Only 2 of our players, Messrs. Dawson and Walter, have yet to play so far this year....but who is marking their cards early doors?
Weekly Top 5
1. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 339 - Straight into the fray after being inactive last week. Really showing her all round prowess now she is allowing herself to bowl. 139 runs and 5 wickets will do very nicely for a start.
2. Vaibhav Sooryavanashi - 179 - Bit of a week of two halves for Vaibhav. Scored 149 points in the final Warm-Up game against Scotland Under-19s and then scored only 30 points in the first two games in the tournament. Will need a score soon.
3. Quinton De Kock - 177 - Reopened his account with a decent score last week but was disadvantaged by only playing the 1 game. This week he played two and got decent points in both to finish third for the week. Is the second highest T20 point scorer so far.
4. Shubman Gill - 172 - Can't beat him for consistency with 56 in both ODIs against New Zealand - although slightly ruined it by scoring one much much slower than the other. Promising signs after a stuttering domestic start for the Indian captain.
5. Aiden Markram - 171 - Whereas last week he had one poor game and one OK game, this week he had one OK game and a good game to bag his first Top 5 finish. Looking good in that strike rate column.
Overall Top 5
1. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi - 565 - Disappointing start to the Under 19 World Cup but a impactful warm up game sees him hold top spot for a second week and also boast a 226 point gap on second. For contex, the next largest gap in points is 62.
2. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 339 - Was in and around the Top 3 all year last year and has set her sights on that again this year. Could she be after top spot.
3. Ravindra Jadeja - 329 - Only 41 points for Jadeja in the two first ODIs of the year. Such was his decent performance in those two domestic games, that he sees him only drop one place from second to third.
4. Quinton De Kock - 326 - QDK in the Top 5 is a familiar sight for those who followed this in 2022 and here he is once more. How long can he keep this form up?
5. Aiden Markram - 264 - Makes his bow in the Top 5 managed to pip over Travis Head's score from that final Ashes Test match to claim his spot this week.
