Simon Harmer - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Weekly Top 5

1. Simon Harmer- 201 - Here is a sight we haven't seen for a while! Simon Harmer claims his 46th Cricketer of the Week award after a year away from the List. Again, wasn't one of his vintage hauls but sees him. What money his 50th this year?

2. Quinton De Kock - 174 - Averaging a very pleasing 77.77 points per T20 game. Coming back off the SA20 and straight into dominating the World Cup. If you are playing South Africa you need to get him away ASAP or risk the game.

3. Aiden Markram - 134 - One decent performance against Canada and a less impressive one in that super-sized game against Afghanistan. Third straight week in the Top 5 though.

4. Saim Ayub - 133 - Not hit a great knock with the bat yet but has had some impactful cameos and also bagged two streaky wickets against the Netherlands. One of those deceptive weeks where you sneak into the Top 5 unknown.

5. Harry Brook - 120 - Is playing well even if his captaincy is leaving quite a bit to be desired. Has featured in the Weekly Top 5 for 3 of the 5 weeks he has played.

Overall Top 5

1.Vabhav Sooryavanshi - 1302 - After his Under 19 World Cup success, the young man has gone back to school to earn grades rather than points. His lead is 291 points off second.

2. Quinton De Kock - 1011 - His third successive week in second and with a decent week could overleap into the Gold position. Still a truckload of games to come.

3. Sam Curran - 844 - One of the better performing players in an under-performing England team. Finished the week with 95 points and managed to secure 3rd for a second week.

4. Aiden Markram- 827 - In spectacular form this year and moves back up into the fourth place spot that he lost last week.

5. Harry Brook - 726 - Despite the maelstrom of negativity that swirls around him, Brook makes his Top 5 debut. Never before has he flown so high, nor been so maligned.

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Weekly Top 5

1. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi - 433 - What a stunning performance in this tournament for this young man! Culminating, of course, with that destructive innings against England in the final. Vaibhav is the first player to two Cricketers of the Week in 2026.

2.Sam Curran - 229 - The upcoming T20 World Cup could be a very very important one in solidifying the Curran legacy. Certainly he has led into it well with a strong bowling performance in one T20 game against Sri Lanka and a strong batting performance in the other.

3. Simon Harmer - 200 - Well here we are once more. Harmer with red ball in hand with bags of wickets and a full compliment of Economy points. Expect to see much more of this as the year goes on.

4. Saim Ayub - 189 - Seems to have shrugged off his early year slump and has been in the Top 5 for two successive weeks. He moves into the Top 10 and, with a good T20 World Cup, could be right up in the thick of it.

5. Pathum Nissanka - 180 - Managed to rack up the points this week without doing anything too over the top. Three scores between 23 and 34but all at decent licks and it sees him comfortably in the Top 5. He also is 91 points off Marco Jansen in 10th Overall.

Overall Top 5

1.Vaibhav Sooryavanshi - 1302 - 37 days into 2026 and Vaibhav has yet to not be our Number 1 Cricketer of the Year. His 433 points this week puts a gap between him and second again as he is our first 'man' past 1000 points.

2. Quinton de Kock - 837 - A quiet final T20 against West Indies....if you can call a 14 ball 28 quiet. He then followed that up with a warm up game against India where he neither batted nor kept wicket. Still enough for a second week at 2.

3.Sam Curran - 749 - His Player of the Tournament performances sees him move from 6th to 3rd this week. Last year's Cricketer of the Year is positioning himself very well again in 2026.

4. Nat Sciver-Brunt- 711 - Was, by some great distance, one of the stand out performers of the WIPL....but was not supported well enough by her team mates and did not make the final rounds. A spell in the wilderness now will see her slip down the List.

5. Aiden Markram - 693 - 38 runs at a 200+ strike rate in a warm up match against India slightly made up for his score of just 2 in the final T20 against West Indies. Moves down a spot to 5th overall with Brook 87 behind him.

2.Ravindra Jadeja = 181.33
3. Nat Sciver-Brunt = 177.75 (Down from 229.67)

Good Week for Vaibhav; up 642.15 points. Bad week for Nat Sciver-Brunt down 51.92 - leaking 81,75 in the last fortnight.

Marco Jansen - The Best Cricketer of the Year

Usually by this point of the year we are all done and dusted but there is so much to play for with 9 days of cricket left in the year.

Weekly Top 5

1. Marco Jansen - 326 - Jansen producing a late year red ball score that we usually associate with Simon Harmer. Showed his true allrounder credentials courtesy of 5 wickets and 96 runs for Warriors in the CSA 4-Day Series Division 1

2. Jos Buttler - 267 - Has been a torrid last third of the year for England's white ball captain but he produced two 50+ scores and finishes in second place this week.

3. David Warner - 234 - Warner has featured in 5 of our last 6 years however his position in 2024 could be in doubt with his long form retirement. Could this have been his swansong?

4. Usman Khawaja - 171 - Backed up his political beliefs with an equally forthright performance with the bat to continue his dominance of the Weekly Top 5....when he plays. Only Pat Cummins has featured in fewer weeks of cricket than Ussie this year.

5. Pat Cummins - 129 - Over half of his points came from his economical ways with the ball in the first Test against Pakistan.

Overall Top 5

1. Jos Buttler - 5078 - We expected this to happen during the World Cup so it has been a loooooong time coming but, with a week left in the year, Jos Buttler returns to the top spot for the first time in 39 weeks.

2. Shakib Al Hasan - 4846 - Absent pursuing political office (something that doesn't earn you many points in this game). The Bangaldesh captain has been first for 55% of the year but drops down a place when it matters most.

3. Shubman Gill - 4786 - Inactive this week but has a Test Match to play so is scheduled to finish second (or maybe) first when the final tally is counted. Needs 292 points from that game to take the laurels.

4. Ravindra Jadeja - 4487 - Inactive this week - but is very likely to finish fourth. Has a Test match on the horizon but has 299 points to make up for third. Has been a very successful year for the spinner though.

5. Simon Harmer - 4432 - Destined to finish in fifth thanks to his disappearing act after the County Championship rounded off. Has a 322 point jump on 6th place.

Other Movers

Dropped in the World Cup and disappointing in the series against the West Indies, Curran still manages to leapfrog both Rashid Khan and Devon Conway into 6th place this week.

Ones to Watch

There are a cluster of Aussies towards the end of our List that could feature in any order by the end of the Boxing Day Test. Cam Green has a 10 point lead on Pat Cummins who himself has an 8 point advantage on Usman Khawaja.

Top 3 Averages

1. Simon Harmer - 184.67
2. Shakib Al Hasan - 156.32
3. Ravindra Jadeja - 144.74

In a week where all but one player improved their average - Marco Jansen's List topping score saw him improve by the most (6.9). That odd man out was Babar Azam - down 2.67 points to 122.3 a week.
