Simon Harmer - The Best Cricketer of the Week

 Weekly Top 5

1. Simon Harmer - 140 - A sixth Cricketer of the Week accolade for Simon Harmer, however 140 is the 5th lowest winning total for the week we've ever had.

2. Peter Handscomb - 129 - Things haven't really been clicking for Handscomb for Middlesex but he had a good outing against Durham in the RLODC to finish in second place for the week.

3. Dawid Malan - 121- Malan always starts very well in competitions and then fades away; The Hundred has been no different. He scored 90% of this total in his first game against the Southern Brave. The other 10% game from his other two matches.

4. Nicholas Pooran - 92 - Pooran is quietly grafting away in his home Summer. This is his third successive Top 5 finish for the week. His average of 93.88 points per active week does look low though.

5. Moeen Ali - 75 - After finishing top of the tree last week, he had a more subdued week this time. He has also moved upwards in the Overall List - he is now in sixth spot

Overall Top 5

1. Marnus Labuschagne - 3833 - The first week of, what is expected to be, a quite lengthily lay off sees Marnus' lead at the top down to a mere 828. To put that into context, that is 28 points less than David Warner has scored in whole of 2021.

2. Simon Harmer - 3005 - A decent RLODC series of performances sees his lead on third place extend.

3. Joe Root - 2740 - An underwhelming cameo in The Hundred sees second place slip further away from him. He needs to be looking over his shoulder now too.

4. Babar Azam - 2565 - Rain saw Babar inactive this week but will be looking to do bits in the Caribbean.

5. Quinton De Kock - 2102 - QDK hasn't brought his international form to The Hundred but manages to hold down 5th for a second week.

Moeen Ali - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Weekly Top 5

1. Moeen Ali - 217 - Moeen picked up the first The Hundred points of any player on our List and it was these that edged him into top spot for the week. Praise be to the Birmingham Phoenix.

2. Marnus Labuschagne - 178 - Picked up his last points for Glamorgan for the Summer and did some in some style. His 178 v was the second highest T20 Blast total....second to his own top score of 183 vs Gloucestershire. Has been a great campaign.

3. Simon Harmer - 173 - Combined a poor score in the T20 Blast with a decent scored in the RLODC to land yet another top 5 spot for the week. It has been five straight weeks in the top 5 for Harms.

4. Quinton De Kock - 167 - Rested for the start of the Ireland v South Africa series but came back roaring. His 9 ball 20 was something of a highlight.

5. Nicholas Pooran -101- Has looked underwhelming since a good start to the year. Has managed to just squeak into the Top 5 with a three figure score form a T20 and an ODI.

Overall Top 5

1. Marnus Labuschagne - 3833 - The Marnus Reign of Terror continues. This is his 17th straight week in the top spot. He does have a period of inactivity coming up but his lead of 968 is intimidating.

2. Simon Harmer - 2865 - Holds off third place and has a second week in silver position. Will hope that a good RLODC campaign will see him through to the resumption of the T20 Blast.

3. Joe Root - 2710 - Had his best T20 Blast game of the season last week but does not do enough to reclaim second place this week.

4. Babar Azam - 2565 - Babar scored 51% of all points scored in the Eng v Pak series, however it was not enough to budge from 4th spot. He has narrowed the gap to third from 775 at the start of the series to 145 now.

5. Quinton De Kock - 2028 - Nips back into the Top 5 after a week away at the expense of Ravichandran Ashwin.

This week's highest point scorer, Moeen Ali, improves his average the most this week. His improvement of 5.76 points sees him on 153.33 a week. Babar's slight dip in run scoring sees his average shrink by 4.25 points. He is now on 150.88 a week.

Marnus Labuschagne - The Best Cricketer of the Week

An incredibly busy week in which 9 players shared a humungous 1771 points between them. Let's tuck in and see who got what.

Weekly Top 5

1. Marnus Labuschagne - 641 - Marnus has come back from Covid quarantine and beaten a record that has stood for over 2 years. Til this point Wayne Parnell's 485 was the highest weekly total. He has blown that out the water largely thanks to a second XI outing where he got 226*

2. Babar Azam - 392 - Scored 19 points from his first two ODIS....then followed it up with 228 in the final ODI and 145. 392 would have seen you finish in the top spot for the week in all but 15 weeks since the start of 2019.

3. Ravichandran Ashwin - 230 - Seven wickets in a cheeky cameo for Surrey this week sees Ashwin finish in the Top 5 yet again. Plays rarely but when he does he scores big.

4. Quinton De Kock - 190 - Rested for the first two ODIs against Ireland (including the one they lost) but returned in Friday's mauling. In top top form at the moment.

5. Simon Harmer - 113 - Isn't blowing anyone away with his performances but is quietly grafting away with decent three figure point hauls week after week.

Other Movers

Two players moved up a place despite not finishing in the Top 5. Ben Stokes scored 85 but sees him overleap his team mate Moeen Ali into 7th, whilst Nicholas Pooran got 108 and overtakes Dawid Malan into 12th.

Overall Top 5

1. Marnus Labuschagne - 3655 - A record breaking week from the Aussie sees him put 962 points between himself and second place. Is it too early to call it for the year?

2. Simon Harmer - 2692 - Has been knocking at the door of second spot for a while now and finally edges it this week. It is his highest position of the year thus far.

3. Joe Root - 2619 - For 15 weeks Root was challenging top spot but a period of Covid isolation sees him drop down to third instead.

4. Babar Azam - 2482 - Such was the gap between Azam and third place that even his huge haul of points this week does not see him move up a place.

5. Ravichandran Ashwin - 1894 - Ashwin loves 5th place. Over the last 2 months he has held it for four weeks - but never for longer than a fortnight at a time. He is just three points ahead of De Kock who will feel very hard done by to be knocked down a peg after a good week.

2. Simon Harmer - 192.29 (Down from 198.38)
2. Ravichandran Ashwin - 189.4 (Up from 184.89)

The top three entirely reshuffles itself as third placed Labuschagne improved his average by 24.93 to move up to top spot whilst Harmer's moved down a place courtesy of the largest drop of the week - 6.09. Ashwin rounds off proceedings in third - one place lower than last week despite improving his average.

Ben Stokes - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Not a lot of completed cricket completed this week (as of half 3 on Saturday) so we will kick off with a Top 3 + 1 other mover of note.

Weekly Top 3

1. Ben Stokes - 130 - Rather had greatness thrust up him this week as he was yoinked out of the Durham game (where he scored 120 points in a day) to captain the Covid-stricken ODI side for which he scored 10. His score is the joint third lowest for a winning weekly score. Has moved up 2 spots to 8th.

2. Dawid Malan - 118 - Could use the new look England side in the ODI series v Pakistan to really force his agenda over the next week. Started by scoring 118 in the first ODI. Moved up 2 spots overall to 11th.

3. Simon Harmer - 69 - Has been out of action for a little bit but got an above average score; he averages 55 in T20 Blast games.

Other Mover

Despite Nicholas Pooran scoring the second lowest of anyone this week, he somehow manages to overtake Glenn Maxwell and Virat Kohli to move into 12th place. It is his first upwards movement since the second week of February where he was in the lofty position of third.

Overall Top 5

1. Marnus Labushcgane - 3014 - Another inactive week for Marnus but still sitting pretty in top spot. This is his 15th week in pole position.

2. Joe Root - 2618 - Isolation has rather hindrered Root's progress. He has been the bridesmaid (and not the bride) for 15 weeks on the trot after losing top spot to Labuschagne at the start of April.

3. Simon Harmer - 2579 - Harmer was the only player in the top 5 to register point this week. He has narrowed the gap to second place to a mere 37. His game against Derbyshire on Sunday represents a chance move up a place.

4. Babar Azam - 2090 - Registered a blob in the first ODI against England but there is absolutely no pressure below him. The nearest active player to him over the last seven days (Ben Stokes) is a full 480 points away.

5. Quinton De Kock - 1671 - Last week's top scorer had a well needed break this week. He retains 5th place.

2. Ravichandran Ashwin - 184.89

Harmer's average took a massive bump this week as he goes down to a more mortal looking score of 198.38 - 10.79 fewer than last week. Dawid Malan was the only player to improve his average - and by only 1.46 points.

Quinton De Kock - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Weekly Top 5

1. Quinton De Kock - 475 - Playing five games in a week will really help your position on the Weekly List but QDK has also played out of his skin. 475 is the second highest weekly total we have ever seen.

2. Ben Stokes - 253 - Buoyed up by a great game early in the week against Warwickshire in the T20Blast, Stokes has gone on to finish second. He is averaging 70.5 points per Blast game. Moved up a place to 10th overall.

3. Joe Root - 207 - Back to ODIs for Joe and some pretty good performances against a listless Sri Lanka side sees him finish in the Top 5 for the third week in a row.

4. Simon Harmer - 160 - Fewer games for Harmer this week but he did get his highest score of the T20 Blast so far against Somerset. A return to four day Cricket looms for him to continue his dominant Summer.

5. Dawid Malan - 146 - Has had a pretty anodyne Summer of cricket for both Yorkshire and England but played one of the innings of his life in the final T20 against Sri Lanka. Moved up a place to 13th overall.

Yearly Top 5

1. Marnus Labuschagne - 3014 - Marnus' lead is so big that his period of quarantine and an inactive week sees him continue to hold a lead of 399 points despite Root and Harmer finishing in the Top 5 highest scorers for the week.

2. Joe Root - 2618 - 14 straight weeks in second spot for Joe Root. With Tests around the corner he will hope to move up a place before the Summer is out.

3. Simon Harmer - 2510 - Has County Championship commitments this week, can he score big and finally real in second place? The gap is now just 108; Harmer averages 209.17 points an active week.

4. Babar Azam - 2090 - An inactive week for Babar before the England v Pakistan games start next week. It will see Azam and Root (two top five players) go head-to-head.

5. Quinton De Kock - 1671 - Unprecedented scenes as QDK jumps SEVEN places to gatecrash the top 5 from absolutely nowhere.

Moeen's average dropped by 6.36 points this week and sees him drop out of the Top 3 highest averages. He is replaced by Marnus Labuschagne.

Unsurprisingly De Kock has seen the largest increase of his average - up 30.52 points to 139.25.
