Mehidy Hasan Miraz - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Weekly Update

1.Mehidy Hasan Miraz - 206 - MHM was the winner of one of the most unedifying Cricketers of the Week earlier this year when he got a score of 131 in a week where only two players featured. This one is more earned.....despite playing three games when most played two.

2.Ravindra Jadeja - 162 - Had a bit of a flat IPL so far but had two decent fixtures this week courtesy of two wickets against Kolkata and 43 runs vs Lucknow.

=3. Shubman Gill - 150 - 100 runs across two games this week continues his decent IPL spell. Does not manage to move up from 17th place overall however.

=3.Simon Harmer - 150 - We are still not at vintage Harmer levels - especially not with the ball - but the South African is certainly contributing with the bat for Essex.

5.Liam Dawson - 144 - 3 wickets and some choking economy in a thriller vs Somerset puts Dawson in 5th place this week.

Overall Top 5

1.Vaibhav Sooryavanshi - 1776 - Not exploding like he was in his opening figure but is still sizzling away. 84 points this week is still more than anyone else in the Top 5 from last week scored.

2. Aiden Markram - 1541 - 42 runs across two fixtures this week is not putting much pressure on first place. Has 71 points between himself and third.

3.Quinton de Kock - 1470 - Exploded back into IPL action last week but only got 40 points in two fixtures this week. Still, a healthy 150 point gap between him and fourth.

4. Saim Ayub - 1320 - Only 5 points this week as he failed to impress in his solitary match for Hyderabad in the PSL this week. Manages to hold 4th for a third week.

5. Jos Buttler - 1225 - Debuted in Week 1 in fifth place and drifted as low as tenth. Returns to claim his place courtesy of his IPL form.

Ones To Watch

Test superstars Ravindra Jadeja and Travis Head are struggling overall this year. Only one point splits them between 11th and 12th.

Highest Weekly Average

1. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi = 197.73 (Down from 211.5)
2. Nat Sciver-Brunt = 177.75
3.Quinton De Kock = 133.64 (Down from 143)

MHM up by 14.68 points to 73.9. Vaibhav drops the most for the second week in a row - down another 14.17 this week.

Saim Ayub - The Only Cricketer of the Week

The Cricket List Saim Ayub Special

In an almost comical turn of events, Saim Ayub is the only player to have registered point this week. With 37 points in the opening game of the PSL, he creates a new record for lowest ever Weekly High Score. This was previously held by Babar Azam almost exactly two years ago for a solitary PSL score.

Overall Top 5

1. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi - 1302 - Inexplicably remained top despite 6 weeks of inactivity. Will be back in action for the first time as a 15 year old when Rajasthan face Chennai on Monday.

2. Quinton de Kock - 1248 - Has just the nine point lead on third place. Just the one game for him this week as Mumbai play Kolkata on Sunday.

3. Aiden Markram - 1239 - A great World Cup saw Markram crash into the Top 5 and could go even higher with 63 points between third and first with no pressure from below him.

4. Sam Curran - 1156 - Ruled out of the IPL and will drop like a stone with a plethora of cricket to come over the coming weeks.

5. Saim Ayub - 1012 - Celebrates the start of the PSL with his debut appearance in the Overall Top 5. Lot of cricket to come from him so could really cement his place.

Highest Weekly Average

1. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi = 260.4
2.Ravindra Jadeja = 181.33
3. Nat Sciver-Brunt = 177.75

Ayub moves down 9.44 points to 112.44 per week.

Sam Curran - The Best Cricketer of the Week

This week was a bumper one with 2314 points scored - the highest of the year to date. To get into the weekly Top 5 you needed 200+ points....let's see who cleared that bar.

Weekly Top 5

1. Sam Curran - 327 - Scored more points in a single County Championship game for Surrey than he did in his entire season for Chennai in the IPL. This bumper score, the joint fourth highest of the year, sees him move up from 11th to 7th in the Overall List.

2. Phil Salt - 308 - Salt was seemingly being iced out of RCB's title challenge but has shown the grit to come back and fight for his place - largely thanks to some high profile withdrawals. 3 games and 2 half centuries puts him move up from 14th to 8th in a very fluid midtable.

3. Harry Brook - 296 - Scored more points this week than he has done in the last 20 weeks of 2025. This is the start of a very busy Summer for the All Format Englishman. You suspect his move from rock bottom to 19th is just the start.

4. Heinrich Klaasen - 239 - Has been frustratingly inconsistent for Hyderabad in this year's IPL. With 987 points across the tournament you cannot begrudge him too much but he ended the tournament with a bang courtesy of a blockbuster 100 against Kolkata.

5. Liam Dawson - 223 - After a mere 76 point a fortnight ago against Warwickshire, Dawson made up for it with 168 versus Sussex and then topped it up with 55 in a T20 Blast Warm up game for Hampshire 2nd XI versus Middlesex Second XI.

Overall Top 5

1. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 1872 - Disappointed in her first foray as captain with a mere 40 Fielding points but was back to her best in the following two T20s. This week's 182 saw her reclaim the top berth she lost 3 weeks ago.

2. Ravindra Jadeja - 1788 - Ended this year's IPL (and maybe his IPL career) with a decent score of 91 courtesy of two wickets and 21 runs against Gujarat. He drops down one place.

3. Jos Buttler - 1665 - A disappointing score of just 5 runs in his final game for Gujarat but a decent quick(ish) 37 against West Indies for England sees him move up into the Top 3.

4. Heinrich Klaasen - 1640 - Klaasen's huge weekly score sees him return back into the Top 5 after 3 weeks away. Difficult times lie ahead as he seems to be out of favour internationally but what a gun to hire if that is his chosen route now.

5. Nicholas Pooran - 1637 - Started the IPL like his life depended on it but then fell away. Ending the tournament with a weekly score of 13 and just holding off Liam Dawson by 15 point seems about right.

Other Movers

In lower scoring weeks we would be screaming their achievements from the rooftops but Rishabh Pant (178) and Travis Head (143) don't make the cut this week. They do, however, move up with the Indian up 3 to 18th and the Aussie up 1 to 15th.

Top 3 Averages

1. Nat Sciver-Brunt – 156 (Up from 153.67)
2. Sam Curran - 153.8 (Up from 134.56)
3. Chamari Athapaththu - 143.6

Some huge swings this week. Harry Brook's lack of cricket and is huge change in form sees his average bump by 32.13 to 82.13. Saim Ayub's 0 sees his depreciate by 10.35 to 62.
