Phil Salt-The Best Cricketer of the Week

One hell of a shake up all over the shop this week as 2317 points are scored - the highest in 9 weeks.

Weekly Top 5

1. Phil Salt - 360 - No surprise that Salt is top of the pile courtesy of those two massively impressive scores against South Africa and Ireland. Who knows how many he would have got if Friday's game hadn't been rained off. Moves up a place overall to 7th.

2. Chamari Athapaththu - 301 - Has been a machine in the WCPL with both bat and ball, registering 504 points in the two-week competition. She finished the highest run scorer, the third highest wicket taker and moves up from 19th to 15th. Now the Women's World Cup.

3. Jos Buttler - 241 - Another cracking week for Jos Buttler with a further 111 runs. He now has the highest points for runs, Batting Bonus and Strike Rate.

4. Annabel Sutherland - 219 - Has taken the form she showed to lead Northern Superchargers to The Hundred title and has carried it through to international colours. 99 runs at a decent lick sees her 4th for the week and back into the Top Ten overall.

5. Nicholas Pooran - 215 - The leanest of lean weeks last week was dispelled by a profligate 135 runs across two CPL games for Trinbago. He is the third highest run scorer in the tournament and is also the second highest on our list with only Buttler ahead of him.

Overall Top 5

1. Sam Curran - 4148 - Suffering from a touch of the Liam Dawsons this week. Just as his international colleague, his incredible point scoring run has been rather broken by representing his country. He still has a 351 point command on second.

2. Jos Buttler - 3797 - Huge amounts of runs sees him open up a decent gap on second place. 224 separate him from bronze position.

3. Liam Dawson - 3573 - Only 70 points from the Englishman this week, however with over half a thousand points between himself and fourth he will have nothing to fear in the short term.

4. Nicholas Pooran - 2972 - A new inclusion in our Top 5 this week. Skips the indignity of fifth place and eases straight into fourth. With a maximum of two games of the CPL left he will want to make that 6 point gap on 5th a little more comfortable over coming days.

5. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 2966 - A month of inactivity sees her drop to fifth. Her latest concern is the superlative Phil Salt who is hitting form towards the end of 2025, just as he did last year. He is two places away from NSB but that is just 217 points.

Ones To Watch

Pathum Nissanka is in great form. Having already moved up two places this week, only 86 points separate him from 9th.

Other Movers

Nissanka moves up two places having fallen one point short of the weekly Top5.Hasaranga, Ayub and Zampa also score meagrely but manage to move up one place to 16th, 20th and 22nd respectively.

Top 3 Averages

1.Chamari Athapaththu - 161.67 (Up from 149)
2. Sam Curran - 159.94 ( Downfrom 162.04)
3. Annabel Sutherland - 142 (Up from 136.87)

Athapaththu's Carribean exploits move her over Sam Curran into the overall highest averagewhilst Harry Brook's solo outing against South Africa sees himdrop the most this week; down 4.77 to 106.38.

Liam Dawson - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Overall Top 5

1. Liam Dawson - 385 - Has awoken from his post international malaise and top scored with his first 50 over runs of the year. His 142 against Yorkshire is his highest score of his career.

2. Pathum Nissanka - 383 - Played three games for Sri Lanka this week and got at least a half century in each. His high point was 122 in the second ODI against Zimbabwe. Moves up 3 places to 13th overall.

3. Nicholas Pooran - 277 - Gets a very large score....but also gets it from four T20 game which makes it slightly less impressive. Moves into 6th place and just 60 runs away from an Overall Top 5 assault.

4. Saim Ayub - 244 - Has had a horrid year but certainly looked in good touch this week. He has spent the whole year in 23rd or 24th position...this week he moves up to 21st.

5. Anabel Sutherland - 173 - Finished The Hundred as the highest point scorer on the List and with the trophy in her hands. She ends the tournament only 41 points off Sam Curran's points haul of 897 in the competition.

Overall

1. Sam Curran - 4021 - Straight out of The Hundred and straight into The Blast (admittedly straight out of it too but that's not the point.) The man doesn't rest. His lead is now above half a thousand points once more.

2. Liam Dawson - 3492 - Regains second place and puts 153 points between himself and 3rd courtesy of those two good One Day Cup games.

3. Jos Buttler - 3329 - Surprisingly lost second place despite an average score....not the only disappointment the England man has had this week after his side's insipid showings against South Africa.

4. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 2966 - Inactive this week and retains fourth.

5. Ravindra Jadeja - 2894 - Completes a month of inactivity and has Nicholas Pooran - in fine fettle in the CPL - breathing down his collar. Should be usurped next week.

Other Movers

Only Adam Zampa scored less than Harry Brook this week, however the Englishman's 55 sees him move above Heinrich Klaasen into 9th.

Top 3 Averages

1. Sam Curran - 167.54 (Down from 169)
2. Chamari Athapaththu -143.6
3. Nat Sciver-Brunt – 141.24 (Down from 141.3)

Pathum Nissanka moves up a monumental 17.23 pointsto 124.63. Adam Zampa's round the world trip yields a decrease to his average of 3.43.H enow has 74.88 points a week.

Travis Head - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Overall Top 5

1. Travis Head - 218 - Head was the biggest beneficiary from the dead rubber ODI where South Africa handed out centuries like they were free samples. He moves up three places courtesy of this, his first Cricketer of the Week of the year.

2. Annabel Sutherland - 217 - Only Sam Curran and Harry Brook have scored more points during The Hundred than the Aussie allrounder. Over that time she has moved from 19th to 13th overall.

3. Jos Buttler - 165 - Started The Hundred in dodgy form but has worked his way back to his best. This is his third successive week in the Weekly Top 5.

4. Harry Brook - 156 - Was the standout man in that standout game against The Oval this week. He has at least one more game in The Hundred to keep up his good Summer.

5. Kane Williamson - 156 - Has maybe flown under the radar a little during his inaugural season captaining London but ends the tournament with 364 points. This was his highest scoring week courtesy of a half century against the South.

Overall Top 5

1. Sam Curran - 3887 - Outside the Top 5 for weekly scores this week but still has a triple figure points score for the week and a 694-point lead in the top spot.

2. Jos Buttler - 3193 - Another good week for Buttler allows him to keep his second place position for a second week.

3. Liam Dawson - 3097 - Had his best week of The Hundred with five wickets across 2 games for London. Holds third place for a second week.

4. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 2966 - The Hundred's second highest run scorer got another 90 this week. With no pressure below her, her lead on fifth is now 162.

5. Ravindra Jadeja - 2804 - Inactive for a third week. His lead on sixth place 279 is still second highest on any other position on The List.

Other Movers

Whilst the entire Top Ten remained static there was plenty of movement from the bottom half. Jamie Smith, Liam Livingstone and Adam Zampa all moved up a place to 11th, 18th and 22,d respectively.

Top 3 Averages

1. Sam Curran -  169 (Down from 170)
2. Chamari Athapaththu -143.6
3. Nat Sciver-Brunt – 141.24 (Down from 141.3)

Travis Head's weekly high score sells his average by 6.97 to a (still unimpressive) 92.53. Heinrich Klaasen's poor Hundred campaign sees his average drop to 90.96.
