Wanindu Hasaranga - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Weekly Top 5

1. Wanindu Hasaranga - 189 - An all round performance courtesy of a three-fer and a half century from the Sri Lankan. Rather tells the tale of his year that this score of 189 is his highest weekly score of the year. For context, the average highest score for the year is 269.64.

2. Rishabh Pant - 169 - Improves on his third place finish last week despite a lower points score. Also jumps a huge three places on the table off of bottom spot. Next up, a Test versus South Africa.

3. Chamari Athapaththu - 92 - Two games this week for the Sydney player. In one she performed with the bat....with the other the ball. Needs to combine those for a really big haul.

4. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 75 - A rather underwhelming performance for NSB this week....perhaps best shown by the fact that 40% of her points came in the field.

5. Babar Azam - 49 - 29 runs and 2 catches in the first ODI against Sri Lanka. Just enough to see him edge into a very low scoring Top 5. Contradictingly he has moved down a place Overall to 22nd.

Overall Top 5

No movement again this week. For the third successive week our Top 5 looks like:

Sam Curran 4266
Jos Buttler 3912
Nat Sciver-Brunt 3864
Liam Dawson 3762
Ravindra Jadeja 3325

Sciver-Brunt doesn't do enough to move into the Top 2 but may do next week whilst Jadeja holds off Sutherland by 223 points.

Top 3 Averages

1.Chamari Athapaththu - 147.81 (Down from 151.53)
2. Sam Curran - 147.1
3. Annabel Sutherland - 141 (Down from 145.48)

A tale of two Sri Lankans today as Hasaranga moves up the most (+4.32 to 98.27) whilst Nissanka moves down the most (-4.96 to 123.2)

Yashasvi Jaiswal - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Weekly Top 5

1. Yashasvi Jaiswal - 323 - After his huge score against West Indies in his last active week, Jaiswal went one better for Mumbai in the Ranji Trophy with 223 runs scored over two innings.....and a maiden 20 points for a wicket to boot.

2. Saim Ayub - 293 - Hard to know whether this a decent score or not. 293 is not to be sniffed at but was scored over two T20Is and two ODIs so could have gone huge. Moves him up to 13th - a 3 place improvement on last week.

3. Rishabh Pant - 177 - Has made his return to cricket for the first time since the England Test series as he turns out for a very strong India A outfit. Bagged 107 runs ...very unequally balanced. Doesn't remove him from the foot of the table, however.

4. Babar Azam - 157 - A welcome return to some decent run-scoring for the ex-Pakistan captain. He still lacks the consistency that used to be his hallmark, however. Moves up a place to third from bottom.

5. Suryakumar Yadav - 145 - 45 runs separated across three T20Is isn't any great shakes but both of them came at lightning pace to help boost his score with 80 Strike Rate points.

Overall Top 5

1. Sam Curran - 4266 - 17 runs and two wickets in the final ODI against New Zealand sees him get 67 runs in what has been a disappointing series.

2. Jos Buttler - 3912 - A decent series in New Zealand could have seen him take top spot....lamentably he only got 105 across the series.

3. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 3794 - Inactive this week but should be back in WBBL action before our next update.

4. Liam Dawson - 3762 - Another inactive week but a cushion of 437 protects him from fifth place.

5. Ravindra Jadeja - 3325 - Inactive after his Ranji Trophy cameo last week. Luckily for him the nearest active player to him is 628 points away.

Other Movers

Travis Head only got 64 runs but manages to nudge up to 17th place.

Ones To Watch

The bottom four is remarkably fluid at the moment with only 87 points between Bumrah, Azam, Zampa and Pant.

Top 3 Averages

1.Chamari Athapaththu - 151,53
2. Sam Curran - 147.1 (Down from 149.48)
3. Annabel Sutherland - 145.48

Jamie Smith is our biggest loser for the successive week. He leaked 5.06 points today to add to his 5.18 from last week. Brighter news for Jaiswal whose bumper week sees him up 9.7 points to 119.27 a week.

Sam Curran - The Best Cricketer of the Week....Again

Weekly Top 5

1. Sam Curran - 223 - Back to back Cricketers of the Week in two different formats of the game is pretty impressive stuff from the England discard. He has scored 550 points in the last fortnight.

2. Suryakumar Yadav - 147 - Didn't take Mumbai to the final but SKY was the biggest beneficiary of the IPL. His tournament haul of 1347 is more than 100 points more than anyone else scored in that time. In that period he has moved from 17th to 8th overall.

3. Jamie Smith - 134 - bit of a wonky week for Jamie Smith. 0 runs in the 2nd ODI and then all his points in the second. Enough for his highest weekly placing of the year and to see him move into 22nd Overall.

4. Liam Dawson - 129 - Just the solitary game for Dawson this week but he got a fourfer against Essex and sees himself with his third three figure score in the last 4 weeks. Loving the English Summer. Next up, England?

5. Yashasvi Jaiswal - 128 - A change of format for Jaiswal but still keeping his eye in. 88 runs across two innings against the England Lions sees him squeak into the Top 5 for the week.

Overall Top 5

1. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 1976 - Increases her lead in first place to 188 points courtesy of 104 points against West Indies Women. That gap is the second largest after the 293 between Travis Head in 16th and Harry Brook one below him.

2. Ravindra Jadeja - 1788 - Holds on to his second place berth by just 5 points. Could drop as low as 6th with his second inactive week next week.

3. Jos Buttler - 1766 - 101 points this week keeps him in 3rd place and fighting off a bit of a domestic cricket insurgency from below. Only 5 points off him and 4th place.

4. Sam Curran - 1761 - Over half a thousand points in a fortnight has seen Curran surge up the table from 11th to grace the Top 5 for the first time in 9 weeks.

5. Liam Dawson - 1751 - The Hampshire man makes his debut in the Top 5 just before he makes his prospective return to playing for England. Poetic.

Other Movers

Harry Brook's fine English Summer sees him continue to rise, up two to 17th. Meanwhile Kane Williamson and Liam Livingstone are both up a place t0 15th and 20th respectively.

Top 3 Averages

1. Sam Curran - 160.09 (Up from 153.8)
2. Nat Sciver-Brunt – 152 (Down from 156)
3. Chamari Athapaththu -143.6

Jamie Smith moves up by 8.67 this week, making his average 73.38 per active week whilst Bumrah's flacid end to the IPL sees him drop by 6.42 down to 71.33. They have the fifth and sixth worst averages of anyone on the List.
