Rachin Ravindra - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Weekly Top 5

1. Rachin Ravindra - 243 - Reminded everyone of his Test acumen with his second century in 11 matches and against India no less.

2. Marnus Labuschagne - 213 - His third 200+ score in 6 weeks and plenty more Cricket in the bank for the Aussie.

3. Ravindra Jadeja - 155 - Of course Jadeja ends up in the Top 5 in a week where he plays a test match. it's just what happens.

4. Usman Khawaja - 141 - Such has been his poor year that 141 is his highest score of 2024. He has scored 372 points in the last 3 weeks, which is more then he scored between the end of January and the start of October.

5. Steve Smith - 119 - Disappointed in the Sheffield Shield (23 points; 20 points in the field) but bolstered his score with 56 runs in the One-Day Cup.

Overall Top 5

1. Chamari Athapaththu - 4010 - Will be chomping at the bit to start playing for the Sydney Thunder in the WBBL on Monday. Will she be able to dominate a franchise tournament in a way that she has failed to do previously and continue her reign at the top of the table.

2. James Vince - 3970 - Inactive for 3 successive weeks for only the second time this year. He does have a considerable amount of cricket on the horizon though. The inaugural Global Super League finishes a week before the BBL starts, so the Hampshire skipper should be available.

3. Travis Head - 3546 - Has a 390 point lead but has jeopardised his place as he will miss the upcoming white-ball series against Pakistan to spend time with his family ahead of the high-stakes five-Test series against India, starting November 22 in Perth.

4. Sam Curran - 3156 - His fifth inactive week. He will not see a fifth as the White Ball series against West Indies starts on Thursday.

5. Marnus Labuschagne - 3130 - Has breached a Top 5 that has had the same five figures in it for the last 11 weeks. He regains the 5th place spot he lost nearly 3 months ago.

Other Movers

A meagre score of 58 was the fourth lowest of the week but still sess Jaiswal move up to the 8th place that Brook dumped him out of last week.

Ones To Watch

Jaiswal has the smallest gap of anyone on the List (19 away from Harmer) and is currently in action against New Zealand.

Top Three Averages

1. Chamari Athapaththu - 174.34
2. Babar Azam - 135.04
3. Jos Buttler - 131.5

Usman Khawaja's average improves the most for the second week in a row; up 11.2 in the last fortnight. Daryl Mitchell's already meagre average depreciates the most - down to 80.47 - only Hardie, Marsh and Khawaja have worse.

Harry Brook - The Best Cricketer of the Week...again

Weekly Top 5

1. Harry Brook - 387 - No air of mystery around top spot this week. If you score a triple ton in a Test you're going to be top of the pops. He has scored 800 points in the last three weeks and moved from 16th in the Overall list to 10th.

2. Marnus Labuschagne - 212 - Back playing red ball cricket and now the captain of Queensland. Scored 112 runs and got two wickets this week to give him second place. Also moves up to 6th place on the Overall List.

3. Moeen Ali - 148 - His late call up into the CPL has given Moeen a late season boost up the List. The 595 points he has scored in the last three weeks is more than he got in the last seven active weeks of cricket he had over the English Summer. Up to 9th overall.

4. Mitchell Marsh - 127 - Could the start of the Australian Summer see Marsh move up our List. His first Sheffield Shield game sees him in fourth for the week, up one overall and all that without bowling. Who knows how high he can go?

5. Usman Khawaja - 115 - The bottom placed Cricketer on our Overall List rounds off our weekly Top 5. With just 613 points across the year, Khawaja is going to have to put in a Herculean effort to be anywhere other than bottom spot for 2024.

Overall Top 5

Despite expectations there is a fourth static week in the top 5. Margins are very narrow between Vince and Athapaththu in first and second and between Azam and a chasing pack below him.

2. Babar Azam - 135.04 (Down from 139.14)

3. Jos Buttler - 131.5

Chamari Athapaththu's average drops by 6.92 but her weekly average is untouchable still. Brook moves up by a huge 12.53 points. With a weekly average of 123,82, he has the second best of anyone.

Rachin Ravindra - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Weekly Top 5

1. Rachin Ravindra - 223 - I think it's time we face it up and say we have a bit of a superstar on our hands. Proving his worth in every format. This is his third Cricketer of the Week aware - the same amount as Babar Azam has.

2. Virat Kohli - 188 - Has taken no time at all to get back into the swing of things. Despite being away from action for 2 months, all it takes is one big score and he leaps up out of bottom spot on the Overall List.

3. Sam Curran - 176 - Had failed to impress so far in 2024 but knows what stage he needs to turn it on for. This is his highest score of the year so far, largely courtesy of a half century against Delhi.

4. Travis Head - 122 - Whilst every other IPL contributor's scores have come from two games, Head's comes from that world record game against Mumbai on Wednesday. Should be a mainstay for the rest of the tournament after that.

5. Aaron Hardie - 107 - Finishes the Sheffield Shield season with a score of 100+ - however, after having been withdrawn from his contract with Surrey, this might be his last score for a little while.

Overall List

1. Babar Azam - 1901 - The first of his indeterminate inactive weeks and his lead on second place drops from 717 points to 638.

2. Rachin Ravindra - 1263 - Bursts up the list from 4th to 2nd. Is very much the focal point for the chasing pack of IPL superstars chasing down top spot.

3. Yashasvi Jaiswal - 1254 - An understated start to the IPL season for Indian's latest poster boy. Lots more to play for but he remains third for the sixth week in a row.

4. James Vince - 1184 - Biding his time before the start of the County Championship season. Drops 2 spots to 4th.

5. Ravindra Jadeja - 1014 - Does just enough to keep himself in his beloved 5th spot for a 4th consecutive week. Has a 121 point lead over Mitchell Marsh.

Other Movers

Mitchell Marsh finished in 6th place for the week and moves up one place overall to be just outside the Top 5. Weirdly, Chamari Athapaththu gets the worst score of the week (21) but still moves up a place to 9th.

Ones to Watch

The tale of the IPL flops is playing out between 7th and 8th place. Glenn Maxwell has scored 52 points across his two games whilst buttler has scored 42. There is just one point between them on Friday afternoon.

Top 3 Average Points per Active Week

1. Babar Azam - 190.2
2. Ravindra Jadeja - 169 (Down from 196.4)
3. Jos Buttler - 168 (Down from 199.5)

Jos Buttler drops the most - down 31.5 - but still in our overall Top 3. Virat Kohli improves the most up a huge 38.17 points to 111.67.

Babar Azam - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Overall points scored this week are back in the 1000+ category - but player points are reasonably modest. For the second week in a row nobody has beaten their personal best score for the year.

Weekly Top 5

1. Babar Azam - 270 - Absolutely loves his home T20 competition. He has 163 more runs than anyone else in the PSL and has accrued 954 points in the 4 weeks of the competition.

2. Mitchell Marsh - 170 - Has had a poor start to the year, but produces one decent innings and finishes in silver medal place for the week - 60 economy points from 9 overs of bowling isn't to be sniffed at either.

3. Shubman Gill - 150 - One final century in a decent series against England. He scored 622 points across the 5 Tests. Now a week off and on to the IPL.

4. Marnus Labuschagne - 126 - Shook off a pretty miserable run of form and struck a score of 90. His 126 is the first score of 100+ he has managed in the last 6 active weeks.

5. Ravindra Jadeja - 106 - Always a banker to score 100+ points whenever he plays. Was a relatively quiet final test for Jadeja but will have plenty in his locker ready for the IPL.

Overall Top 5

1. Babar Azam - 1847 - Has an almost obscene 663 point lead on second place....however his Peshawar Zalmi team are now out of the PSL and is seemingly inactive until mid-April.

2. James Vince - 1184 - Finishes the PSL strongly and will now join up with Hampshire. Will spend a bit of time away from the game whilst the chasing pack will be filling their boots on the IPL circuit. Will be out of the Top 5 by the time the County Championship starts.

3. Yashasvi Jaiswal - 1182 - One last half century for Jaiswal in what has been a landmark series for the young man. Finished a mere 2 points off second place having started the series in 12th place.

4. Rachin Ravindra - 1040 - Continues to perform well with the bat for New Zealand and is the fourth player to breach the thousand point mark. His next challenge is to see if he can corner the market in the IPL. If so then we have a true superstar on our hands.

5. Ravindra Jadeja - 952 - Comfortably 5th place for the second week in a row. The hap between himself and Jos Buttler in 6th is the second biggest of any in the List (154).

Other Mover

Aaron Hardie's 62 points in the Sheffield Shield seems modest but was enough for him to arrest his descent down the list and move into 15th.

Top 3 Average Points per Active Week

1. Babar Azam - 205.22 (Up from 184.63)
2. Jos Buttler - 199.5
3. Ravindra Jadeja - 190.4 (Down from 209.25)

Babar Azam is back up to an average of 200+ after another decent week. Chamari Athapaththu has another poor week and loses 19.9 points and now scores 129.5 points a week
