Pathum Nissanka - The Best Cricketer of the Week

A full compliment of T20 World Cup players this week with nobody featuring outside of that competition.

Weekly Top 5

1. Pathum Nissanka - 282 - Was looking worryingly out of nick up to this point of the year but burst into life with a century and a half century against Australia and Zimbabwe. When he is at his best, there are few better.

2. Aiden Markram - 214 - Continuing his fine spell of form with 114 runs scored over two T20 games....impressively he did better against the Test nation than he did the Associate.

3. Sam Curran - 213 - Not doing anything phenomenal (few English players are) but he is doing just enough with both bat and ball to feature in the weekly Top 5 for the second week in a row.

4. Travis Head - 168 - Something of a case of too little too late for the stand-in Aussie captain as he saved two decent performances for when his team were already on the brink. 27 points in the first two weeks and 168 in the last says it all.

5. Rachin Ravindra- 142 - Nothing like a knock against an Associate side to build confidence. RR is having a torrid time this year but bagged his first half century against Canada to see him pip into the Top 5 for the week.

Overall Top 5

1. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi - 1302 - Despite the points spraying around in the T20 World Cup, for Vaibhav to still have a 200+ lead is really something special.

2. Quinton De Kock - 1085- A comparatively quiet week for QDK. He is now looking over his shoulder rather than into the distance as he has a lead of just 28 off third.

3. Sam Curran - 1057 - Despite being one of the highest point scorers this week, Curran is unable to move out of bronze medal position. Still games to play for him though.

4. Aiden Markram - 1041 - Despite his big points haul this week, he does not manage to move out of fourth spot. There is a huge gulf between himself and fifth, the largest anywhere on the List.

5. Harry Brook - 764 - A disappointing week does not see Brook lose his fifth placed position. 42 points sperate him from Saim Ayub in 6th.

Highest Weekly Average

1. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi = 260.4
2.Ravindra Jadeja = 181.33
3. Nat Sciver-Brunt = 177.75

Vaibhav Sooryavanshi - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Weekly Top 5

1. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi - 433 - What a stunning performance in this tournament for this young man! Culminating, of course, with that destructive innings against England in the final. Vaibhav is the first player to two Cricketers of the Week in 2026.

2.Sam Curran - 229 - The upcoming T20 World Cup could be a very very important one in solidifying the Curran legacy. Certainly he has led into it well with a strong bowling performance in one T20 game against Sri Lanka and a strong batting performance in the other.

3. Simon Harmer - 200 - Well here we are once more. Harmer with red ball in hand with bags of wickets and a full compliment of Economy points. Expect to see much more of this as the year goes on.

4. Saim Ayub - 189 - Seems to have shrugged off his early year slump and has been in the Top 5 for two successive weeks. He moves into the Top 10 and, with a good T20 World Cup, could be right up in the thick of it.

5. Pathum Nissanka - 180 - Managed to rack up the points this week without doing anything too over the top. Three scores between 23 and 34but all at decent licks and it sees him comfortably in the Top 5. He also is 91 points off Marco Jansen in 10th Overall.

Overall Top 5

1.Vaibhav Sooryavanshi - 1302 - 37 days into 2026 and Vaibhav has yet to not be our Number 1 Cricketer of the Year. His 433 points this week puts a gap between him and second again as he is our first 'man' past 1000 points.

2. Quinton de Kock - 837 - A quiet final T20 against West Indies....if you can call a 14 ball 28 quiet. He then followed that up with a warm up game against India where he neither batted nor kept wicket. Still enough for a second week at 2.

3.Sam Curran - 749 - His Player of the Tournament performances sees him move from 6th to 3rd this week. Last year's Cricketer of the Year is positioning himself very well again in 2026.

4. Nat Sciver-Brunt- 711 - Was, by some great distance, one of the stand out performers of the WIPL....but was not supported well enough by her team mates and did not make the final rounds. A spell in the wilderness now will see her slip down the List.

5. Aiden Markram - 693 - 38 runs at a 200+ strike rate in a warm up match against India slightly made up for his score of just 2 in the final T20 against West Indies. Moves down a spot to 5th overall with Brook 87 behind him.

Highest Weekly Average

1. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi = 260.4(Up from 217.25)
2.Ravindra Jadeja = 181.33
3. Nat Sciver-Brunt = 177.75 (Down from 229.67)

Good Week for Vaibhav; up 642.15 points. Bad week for Nat Sciver-Brunt down 51.92 - leaking 81,75 in the last fortnight.

Quinton De Kock - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Weekly Top 5

1. Quinton De Kock – 318 – What a start to the year QDK is having. Finishes the SA20 as the highest run scorer before whacking a century in his first home T20 since his return to the fold.

2. Harry Brook – 298 – Despite the awful end to his 2025, Brook looks to be starting 2026 more positively courtesy of a scorching century in the second ODI against Sri Lanka. Moves up to 7th overall.

3. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi – 182 – Scores of 40 versus New Zealand and 52 against Zimbabwe gives Vaibhav his fourth consecutive week in the Top 5.

4. Nat Sciver-Brunt – 170 – Is the only person in the Weekly Top 5 to have played just one game…but what a game it was; bagging the first century in the WIPL.

5. Aiden Markram – 151- Went from ending the SA20 well to starting the T20I series against West Indies well. 101 runs from the two games sees him nick fifth place away from Marco Jansen who was 11 points behind him.

Overall Top 5

1. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi - 869 - Has now held the top spot for 4 weeks....but that gap is getting narrower and narrower. Just the 100 points between him and a chasing pack this week.

2. Quinton de Kock - 769 - Moved down a place last week but has now jumped up to silver medal position like a scalded cat. How far can the SA20 MVP go?

3. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 689 - While all around her moved NSB stoically maintained her third placed position for a second week. With the WIPL winding down, however, she needs points while she still can.

4. Aiden Markram - 613 - After debuting in the Top 5 in Week 2, he has been an ever present since. This week he has also claimed the spot as the third highest run scorer behind QDK and Vaibhav.

5. Ravindra Jadeja - 544 - Inactive again this week and down from second to his favourite spot of fifth. Last week 5th spot De Kock was just holding off Curran; it is the same situation this week as Curran is 24 points behind the Indian spinner.

Highest Weekly Average

1. Nat Sciver-Brunt = 229.67 (Down from 259. 5)
2. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi = 217.25 (Down from 229)
3. Quinton de Kock = 192.25 (Up from 150.33)

Good Week for Harry Brook ; up 67.33 points to 163.33. Bad week for Nat Sciver-Brunt down 29.83 to 229.83.
