Pathum Nissanka-The Best Cricketer of the Week

Calculations were concluded before the end of the England match so NSB's score will role over to next week.

Weekly Top 5

1. Pathum Nissanka - 167 - Finished an impressive few weeks with a stonking score of 107 against India. It was an eye-catching knock that, many people say, might get him an IPL contract next year. He also did it in one T20 game compared to the rest of the Top 5 this week who needed two ODIs or a Four Day game to do less well than him.

2. Annabel Sutherland - 161 - Did not score well in her final warm-up game but came on for a devastating spell to finish New Zealand off in her first World Cup game.

3. Liam Dawson - 109- The leading red ball point scorer added another 109 to his balance in the final County Championship game of the season. Will count himself very lucky that it wasn't the last in Division One.

4. Chamari Athapaththu - 101 - A smidge under a half century in the opening loss to India points to the fact this could be another big tournament for the Lankan. Moves up a place to 15th Overall.

5. Travis Head - 71 - A lean week for point scoring sees a score of less than 100 get you into the Top 5. Could have been more if rain had not interrupted this morning.

Overall Top 5

1. Sam Curran - 4148 - A well earnt rest for a very busy man over the English summer. Seems to be out of action until the beginning of the BBL....but I could be wrong.

2.Jos Buttler - 3807 - A period of time in the wilderness looms for Buttler. I think his next action will be for Durban in the SA20.

3. Liam Dawson- 3722 - A man who is going to have a well earned rest for a bit; potentially all the way up until the SA20.

4.Nat Sciver-Brunt - 3166 - The only member of our Top 5 who is going to be very active over the coming weeks. She has a huge gulf to eat into to move up as there is 556 - the largest gap of any point in the List - between her and third place.

5. Nicholas Pooran - 3096- Inactive this week but also has a very active Ravindra Jadeja 292 points behind him.

Other Movers

Only 50 points this week but is enough to not only see Bumrah off bottom place but up above both Azam and Zampa into 22nd.

Top 3 Averages

1. Sam Curran - 159.94
2.Chamari Athapaththu - 157 (Down from 161.67)
3. Annabel Sutherland - 143.12 (Up from 142)

Sciver-Brunt loses her top three place due to a 5.55 drop down to 137.65. Pathum Nissanka's big week sees him move up to 128.16; an improvement of 2.16.

Jos Buttler - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Weekly Top 5

1. Jos Buttler - 227 - Excelled in two short England games this week; one short because of ineptitude and one because of the weather, however he showed impactful batting in both. This is his 6th Cricketer of the Week; two more than anyone else on the List.

2. Chamari Athapaththu - 203 - Has been challenging last year's maxim that she plays huge when she does play but doesn't play very much. This is only her 11th wicket of cricket but gets 203 courtesy of an incredible bowling performance against Trinbago

3. Liam Livingstone - 195 - Returned to the Lancashire side for a rare outing to rocket propel them into T20 Finals day with a match winning 85 against Kent.

4. Yashasvi Jaiswal - 138 - A return to cricket after the England Test series with a losing appearance for West Zone in the Duleep Trophy. Scored just 4 in the first innings but followed it up with a half century in the second dig.

5. Jamie Smith - 102 - Is going to be rested for the rest of the White Ball Summer but made the most of his final foray with a 62 against South Africa in the final ODI.

Overall Top 5

1. Sam Curran - 4051 - A literal damp squib for Curran's return to the England set up as he garners only 30 points from the shambolic first T20i against South Africa. More to come.

2. Jos Buttler - His top scoring week moves him back up a place to second.

3. Liam Dawson - 3503 - Bit parts in two games this week but only 21 points and down a place to third. There is, however, a huge gap between him and fourth place - 537 points is the largest gap of any point in the List.

4. Nat Sciver-Brunt - Inactive again this week and lucky that so many just below her were wither inactive too or having stinkers.

5. Ravindra Jadeja - 2804 - Inactive again and Pooran's score of just 13 in the CPL means that his lead on sixth place is still 47 points.

Ones To Watch

Saim Ayub only got 47 points this week but the long time bottom spot player is on the up and up. he is 7 points from 19th and only 400 separate him from 15th.

Top 3 Averages

1. Sam Curran - 162.04 (Down from 167.54)
2. Chamari Athapaththu - 149 ( Up from 143.6)
3. Nat Sciver-Brunt – 141.24

Athapaththu moves up the most this week whilst Jasprit Bumrah's swing from red ball to white ball cricket sees him drop by 5.84 points to 15th.

Liam Dawson - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Overall Top 5

1. Liam Dawson - 385 - Has awoken from his post international malaise and top scored with his first 50 over runs of the year. His 142 against Yorkshire is his highest score of his career.

2. Pathum Nissanka - 383 - Played three games for Sri Lanka this week and got at least a half century in each. His high point was 122 in the second ODI against Zimbabwe. Moves up 3 places to 13th overall.

3. Nicholas Pooran - 277 - Gets a very large score....but also gets it from four T20 game which makes it slightly less impressive. Moves into 6th place and just 60 runs away from an Overall Top 5 assault.

4. Saim Ayub - 244 - Has had a horrid year but certainly looked in good touch this week. He has spent the whole year in 23rd or 24th position...this week he moves up to 21st.

5. Anabel Sutherland - 173 - Finished The Hundred as the highest point scorer on the List and with the trophy in her hands. She ends the tournament only 41 points off Sam Curran's points haul of 897 in the competition.

Overall

1. Sam Curran - 4021 - Straight out of The Hundred and straight into The Blast (admittedly straight out of it too but that's not the point.) The man doesn't rest. His lead is now above half a thousand points once more.

2. Liam Dawson - 3492 - Regains second place and puts 153 points between himself and 3rd courtesy of those two good One Day Cup games.

3. Jos Buttler - 3329 - Surprisingly lost second place despite an average score....not the only disappointment the England man has had this week after his side's insipid showings against South Africa.

4. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 2966 - Inactive this week and retains fourth.

5. Ravindra Jadeja - 2894 - Completes a month of inactivity and has Nicholas Pooran - in fine fettle in the CPL - breathing down his collar. Should be usurped next week.

Other Movers

Only Adam Zampa scored less than Harry Brook this week, however the Englishman's 55 sees him move above Heinrich Klaasen into 9th.

Top 3 Averages

1. Sam Curran - 167.54 (Down from 169)
2. Chamari Athapaththu -143.6
3. Nat Sciver-Brunt – 141.24 (Down from 141.3)

Pathum Nissanka moves up a monumental 17.23 pointsto 124.63. Adam Zampa's round the world trip yields a decrease to his average of 3.43.H enow has 74.88 points a week.
