Jos Buttler - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Top 5 for the Week

1. Jos Buttler - 230 - His points had been gradually declining throughout The Hundred but was back in a big way this week; with 120 runs across two games. This is his third Cricketer of the Week performance making 2023 the best of his three years on our Lists.

2. Harry Brook - 187 - Scored his obligatory century in each Short Format franchise competition he plays in and gets second place. If it wasn't for the flop against Manchester he could have bagged his first Cricketer of the Week.

3. Jonny Bairstow - 124 - Had two awful games last week and scored 3 points. This week he performed 4100% better and finished third.

4. Devon Conway - 120 - Is rather enjoying his time at The Rose Bowl. He has scored triple figure point scores in back to back weeks this week and finishes fourth once more.

5. Moeen Ali - 116 - Back in the points again and, inexplicably, still creeping up the Overall Table. Despite having the second worst average points per active week (86.73) He is now up to 11th place. Having only missed 8 weeks of cricket also helps.

Overall Top 5

1. Shakib Al Hasan - 3867 - Despite scoring the lowest score of any active player this week (47) Shakib manages to extend his lead in first to 135. He has one Asia Cup game against Sri Lanka before next week's deadline to extend that lead.

2. Simon Harmer - 3732 - Inactive this week and will be inactive next week due to Essex's elimination from the Metro Bank One Day Cup. He has a 296 point lead on third place; will that be enough?

3. Jos Buttler - 3436 - His weekly high score sees him to his highest Overall placement in a month. Is guaranteed at least 1 (maybe 2 games) over the next week.

4. Shubman Gill - 3424 - Down one place to fourth. Inactive this week and will also be inactive next week before having two games the week after. With just 164 points off him and 5th spot he may descend further down the overall list.

5. Sam Curran - 3260 - Such are the ups and downs of cricket that Sam Curran scored the highest weekly total last week and then got the lowest one this week. It sees him drop a place overall to 5th.

Other Mover

Rashid Khan finished 6th this week and also moved up to 6th overall courtesy of the two lost ODIs to Pakistan.

Top 3 Averages

1. Shakib Al Hasan - 175.77 (Down from 181.9)
2. Simon Harmer - 169.63
3. Ravindra Jadeja - 165

Shakib Al Hasan's average topples by 6.13 but he still remains comfortably first for the year. Harry Brook's average gets a 4.43 boost thanks to that century vs the Welsh Fire.

Sam Curran - The Best Cricketer of the Week

 Weekly Top 5

1. Sam Curran - 230 - Showed his all round credentials in The Hundred this week with decent efforts with both bat and ball across his three fixtures. This is his second Cricketer of the Week of 2023.

2. Shakib Al Hasan - 221 - Played 4 matches in the LPL this week, and got a wicket in each...yet did not score above 20 in any. Despite finishing with the second highest points of the week, this total does seem a little underwhelming.

3. Simon Harmer - 151 - One wicket in all three Metro Bank One Day Cup games for Harmer, however his batting has let him down with a mere 11 runs across the games.

4. Devon Conway - 149 - Decent batting performances plus 60 points with the gloves sees Conway push into the Top 5.

5. Shubman Gill - 146 - Found his T20 Batting form for one game before promptly forgetting it again for the final T20 vs the West Indies. His score of 70 is enough to edge him into the Top 5.

Overall Top 5

1. Shakib Al Hasan - 3820 - Scored 70 points more than Simon Harmer this week to extend his lead to 88 points, however the LPL is at an end now and the Asia Cup doesn't start for a fortnight so he will struggle to hold on to top spot until then.

2. Simon Harmer - 3732 - Pootling along in his least favoured format. Within touching distance of first and a country mile away from 3rd. Mounting his charge, perhaps.

3. Shubman Gill - 3424 - Third once more - and you feel that may be his station for a little while. He is 308 points below second and 212 points above 4th.

4. Sam Curran - 3212 - His impressive week in The Hundred sees him move up into the Top 5 after he lost his place a month ago.

5. Jos Buttler - 3206 - A poor week for Buttler in The Hundred and he drops down to fifth. There is no real pressure from anyone below him so will be looking up rather than down.

Other Movers

Harry Brook is not doing terribly well in The Hundred but he manages to overtake the long-time inactive Marco Jansen into 13th place this week.

Ones To Watch

Two international team mates who are captaining different Hundred franchises have 6 points between them. Sam Curran's Oval Invincibles are doing much better than Jos Buttler's Manchester Originals...but they are both capable of big scores.

Top 3 Averages

1. Shakib Al Hasan - 181.9 (Up from 179.95_
2. Simon Harmer - 169.63 (Down from 170.52)
3. Ravindra Jadeja - 165

Sam Curran's top scoring week sees his average improve by 4.27 points to 118.96. Bairstow's ignominious return to The Hundred, coupled with his lack of active weeks means his average divebombs by ten and a half points to 97.5

Babar Azam - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Weekly Top 5

1. Babar Azam - 289 - Put something of a shift in all week in the LPL but is mainly here thanks to his century against Galle. This is his 14th Cricketer of the Week award - the joint second most of anyone ever.

2.Hardik Pandya = 174 - Hardik finished top last week and second this week courtesy of a decent bowling display in the end T20I vs West Indies. Despite two weeks worth of decent scores he still remains locked out of the Overall Top 10.

3. Suryakumar Yadav - 144 - SKY spent the first 2 months in Top 8 positions Overall but has never strung enough good performances to get up to those positions since. A very strong performance in the 3rd T20I was not enough to stop him from moving DOWN a place overall to 10th.

4. Harry Brook - 143 - A decent (if not career defining) Ashes performance now behind him, Brook has returned to franchise cricket and had one good performance this week against the Southern Brave to see him with a Top 5 finish.

5. Simon Harmer - 128 - Back from his rest in the early stages of the Metro Bank One Day Cup and a batting heavy score for the South African against Hampshire is enough for him to just squeak into the Top 5.

Overall

1. Shakib Al Hasan - 3599 - 67 points from 3 T20 games is poor by anyone's standards but Shakib manages to just just just hold on to top spot for a second consecutive week.

2. Simon Harmer - 3581 - Scored more than anyone else in the Top 8 but still does not manage to retain Top Spot. Maybe next week?

3. Shubman Gill - 3278 - That T20 malaise does not look like reversing itself anytime soon. Just 13 points scored this week and now the gap between him and second place is 303; the third highest gap between players at any point on our list.

4. Jos Buttler - 3153 - Is back to scoring well, and would have been even higher had the game against London Spirit not been washed out. He is up 2 places this week.

5. Ravindra Jadeja - 3135 - Inactive this week and is back into 5th position. He has spent 14 weeks of 2023 in 5th spot. Only Cummins' 18 week spell in 18th is longer.

Ones To Watch

It has to be those Top Two places. 18 points separates Galle's Shakib Al Hasan in first and Essex's Simon Harmer in second. Both players have 3 T20 games between Friday night and next Friday's update. Whose your money on?

Top 3 Averages

1. Shakib Al Hasan - 179.95 (Down from 185.89)
2. Simon Harmer - 170.52 (Down from 172.65)
3. Ravindra Jadeja - 165

Babar Azam's LPL form sees his average swell by nearly 10 points to 146.13. Shubman Gill's average continues to tumble; 10 weeks ago his average was 174.12, it is now 149.

Phil Salt - The Best Cricketer of the Week

The fifth highest week for point scoring with 9 triple figure scores. Last week's highest score would see you finishing 5th this week....
