Ravindra Jadeja - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Weekly Top 5

1.Ravindra Jadeja - 215 - Last year's highest Red Ball point scorer has that format to thank for his first Cricketer of the Week of 2026. He added 193 in his Ranji Trophy game against Punjab to his measly 22 points from the final ODI against New Zealand to finish in top spot in a low scoring week.

= 2. Aiden Markram - 198 - Manages to finish second despite playing a solitary T20 game this week. 108 at a good lick was not enough to see his Durban team progress but is enough for silver medal spot this week.

=2. Sam Curran - 198 - A very poor England display - in what is becoming an increasingly crowded field- was counterbalanced by a corker of a final game in the BBL with a half century and two wickets for Sydney. Bet he wished he'd stayed.

4. Nat Sciver-Brunt- 180 - Absolutely loves the WPL. Made a killing in that tournament last year and is doing so again in 2026. Another 80 runs in two games and a couple of wickets to boot for her to finish in the Top 5 for her two opening games.

5. Marco Jansen - 153 - Has failed to impress so far in 2026. 0 in Week 1, 76 in Week 2....and now 153 this week.....that kind pf progression will see him odds on for a score of 300+ next week!

Overall Top 5

1.Vaibhav Sooryavanshi - 687 - Has scored less and less every week but still has a three figure lead on first spot....he also managed to get his first decent tournament runs of the year under his belt with 72 against Bangladesh Under 19s.

2. Ravindra Jadeja - 544 - Moves up a spot to second place courtesy of his first Cricketer of the Week award of 2026. Was in the Top 5 almost all of last year and is setting himself up well for this year.

3. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 519 - Down a place this week despite finishing in the Top 5. Needs her team to start matching her performances for her to access the knockout stages of the WIPL and score more points.

4. Aiden Markram - 462 - Moves up a place courtesy of that final big century for Durban - it is all very very tight in that Top 6 so will be hard pushed to stick around too long.

5. Quinton De Kock - 451 - Only just keeps his place in the Top 5 as he is only a single point ahead of Sam Curran this week. Has at least one more SAT20 game in the bank though so could challenge for higher honours next week.

Highest Weekly Average

1. Nat Sciver-Brunt = 259. 5
2. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi = 229
3. Ravindra Jadeja = 181.33

Good Week for Marco Jansen; up 38.33 points to 76.33. Bad week for Vaibhav Sooryavanshi down 53.5 to 229.

Nat Sciver-Brunt- The Best Cricketer of the Week

Only 2 of our players, Messrs. Dawson and Walter, have yet to play so far this year....but who is marking their cards early doors?

Weekly Top 5

1. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 339 - Straight into the fray after being inactive last week. Really showing her all round prowess now she is allowing herself to bowl. 139 runs and 5 wickets will do very nicely for a start.

2. Vaibhav Sooryavanashi - 179 - Bit of a week of two halves for Vaibhav. Scored 149 points in the final Warm-Up game against Scotland Under-19s and then scored only 30 points in the first two games in the tournament. Will need a score soon.

3. Quinton De Kock - 177 - Reopened his account with a decent score last week but was disadvantaged by only playing the 1 game. This week he played two and got decent points in both to finish third for the week. Is the second highest T20 point scorer so far.

4. Shubman Gill - 172 - Can't beat him for consistency with 56 in both ODIs against New Zealand - although slightly ruined it by scoring one much much slower than the other. Promising signs after a stuttering domestic start for the Indian captain.

5. Aiden Markram - 171 - Whereas last week he had one poor game and one OK game, this week he had one OK game and a good game to bag his first Top 5 finish. Looking good in that strike rate column.

Overall Top 5

1. Vaibhav Sooryavanshi - 565 - Disappointing start to the Under 19 World Cup but a impactful warm up game sees him hold top spot for a second week and also boast a 226 point gap on second. For contex, the next largest gap in points is 62.

2. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 339 - Was in and around the Top 3 all year last year and has set her sights on that again this year. Could she be after top spot.

3. Ravindra Jadeja - 329 - Only 41 points for Jadeja in the two first ODIs of the year. Such was his decent performance in those two domestic games, that he sees him only drop one place from second to third.

4. Quinton De Kock - 326 - QDK in the Top 5 is a familiar sight for those who followed this in 2022 and here he is once more. How long can he keep this form up?

5. Aiden Markram - 264 - Makes his bow in the Top 5 managed to pip over Travis Head's score from that final Ashes Test match to claim his spot this week.

Pathum Nissanka - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Weekly Top 5 Update

1. Pathum Nissanka - 233 - What an end to 2025 Nissanka is having. This week he claimed his third Cricketer of the Week award after having climbed into the Top 10 for the first time last week. He is now the highest run scorer in out List as well as having the most BB points.

2. Kane Williamson - 164 - Can't think of a time in the 8 year history of our storied game where someone has had two Test Matches in a week. With that in mind Williamson's total seems a little underwhelming but second is second.

3. Yashasvi Jaiswal - 156 - A Daddy score of 116 against South Africa was Jaiswal's sole contribution....but was in action for Mumbai as I calculated.

4. Sam Curran - 132 - Has switched into his T20 franchise tournament mode with some decent performances in the ILT20 most notably his score of 44 against the Gulf.

5. Phil Salt - 92 - Bit of a gulf between 5th and 4th this week but Salt got three OK-ish scores in the ILT20 to bag 5th.

Overall Top 5

1. Sam Curran - 4435 - Sensed his poor week last week and has now swollen his lead back up to 216.

2. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 4219 - A victim of her own success. Instrumental in taking Hobart to the WBBL final and therefore inactive this week while the other teams scrap to see who she will face off against.

3. Liam Dawson - 3967 - An insignificant score of 80 proved to be quite significant for Dawson as he jumps two places up to 3rd. 50 of those 80 points were in the field.

4. Ravindra Jadeja - 3966 - A solitary wicket in the final ODI against South Africa was not enough to see Jadeja keep third place. Down one to fourth.

5. Jos Buttler - 3912 - Now inactive for 5 weeks and out of the top 4 for the first time in 31 weeks. Has he got enough to hold off Salt in 6th. 351 points separate them.

Other Movers

A very weird one this week as the utterly useless Jamie Smith and his 45 points sees him overtake the inactive trio of Klaasen, Athapaththu and Kasaranga to move up three places to 14th. Pooran moves back up to seventh after a week away.

Top 3 Averages

1. Sam Curran - 143.06 (Down from 143.43)
2. Ravindra Jadeja = 136.76 (Down from 140.3)
3. Nat Sciver-Brunt = 136.1

Sutherland loses out the most (down 3.59 to 134.81) to cede here Top 3 place to the inactive Sciver-Brunt. Nissanka moves up by 4.57 to 127.92.
