Mohammad Rizwan - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Weekly Top 5

1. Mohammad Rizwan - 289 - After an underwhelming PAK vs WI series, Rizwan has returned to Surrey and put in two banging T20 Blast performances out of 3. Rizwan's second Cricketer of the Week award.

2. Pat Cummins - 195 - Is the 5th least active player but always makes it count when he turns up with an average of 132.46 points per active week. Gets second spot this time out. Up a place to 11th in the Overall List.

3. Glenn Maxwell - 190 - Has had a solid ODI leg of the SL v Aus series...so solid in fact he is expected a Test recall this week. It will be his first point scored in red ball cricket since his spell with Lancashire in 2020.

4. David Warner - 168 - Is mainly in the Top 5 due to his 99 in the fourth ODI. That 'nearly-tonne' is sandwiched between scores of 9 and 10. He is up to 13th on the Overall List.

5. Travis Head - 147 - After being plucked from the A team and hooking back up with the big boys, Head has managed back-to-back top 5 places....frustratingly he has not improved his overall total and remains rooted in 18th and still has 352 points to catch up with Bairstow.

Overall Top 5

1. Simon Harmer - 2680 - Same stuff, different week. Harmer posts an OK score but manages to hold off any real pressure from below. Still has 369 points between him and second.

2. Mohammad Rizwan - 2311 - His winning week sees him back up to second spot. He has not graced the top two places for nearly 3 months but his T20 Blast performances are putting him back in the frame.

3. Glenn Maxwell - 2203 - The winner of Cricketer of the Year from 2019 is in fine form. He is in his highest position for four months and is about to pull on the Baggy Green once more.

4. Marnus Labuschagne - 2198 - Was the lowest scoring of our Australian players during this week's SL v Aus ODIs and has payed the price by moving down a place.

5. Quinton De Kock - 2108 - After holding second or first place for 6 weeks, De Kock is inactive this week and plummets to 5th place. He has a big gap between himself and 6th so he needn't worry too much...yet.

Other Movers

Despite being the lowest scorer of the week, Moeen's score of 62 sees him move up two spots to 7th thanks to inactivity around him. Matt Critchley also moves up a place to 12th.

Ones To Watch

A mere 5 points separate Aussie allrounders Glenn Maxwell and Marnus Labuschagne; with the pair about to embark on a Test series together it could be interesting to see who will prevail.

Top Three Averages

1. Simon Harmer = 178.67 (Down from 183.64)
2. Ben Stokes = 167.18
3. Babar Azam = 157.33

For the third straight week, Harmer has the biggest drop in his average....yet still holds the highest average. In a week where 5 of our Cricketers improved their average it is Rizwan who did so by the most - up 9.13 to 115.55 per active week.

Ben Stokes - The Best Cricketer of the Week

have had a stomach bug this week so I'm used to a lot of erratic movement....but not even that prepared me for this week's pointfest.

19 of our 21 players were active this week and between them they scored 2416 points!

Weekly Top 5

1. Ben Stokes - 331 - It was genuinely hard to see who would win Cricketer of the Week this week but then when I sat down and worked it out of course it was Stokes. He sored points in every category except Wicket Bonus and was instrumental in THAT win. Up two places to eighth.

2. Joe Root - 279 - You know it's Summer time when Joe is back in the weekly Top 5. You almost feel like he has been deprived his first Cricketer of the Week of 2022 but the stats don't lie. Shockingly he has moved DOWN a place on the Overall List to 10th.

3. Glenn Maxwell - 276 - Back in the Australia ODI side and back scoring runs like he does best....playing three games in a week doesn't hurt either.

4. Jonny Bairstow - 204 - The man of the hour on Tuesday only makes it to fourth this week. Shockingly he also makes no headway on the overall list but has Warner, KL Rahul and Hasan Ali within 37 points of him so could make a big move after the next Test.

5. Steve Smith - 178 - Sods law for Smith. After registering in the Top 5 for the first time this year, he is now sweating on an injury that may rule him out of the rest of the series. Thems the breaks.

Overall Top 5

1. Simon Harmer - 2571 - His score of 67 from one T20 Blast isn't setting the world alight but he is doing exactly what he needs to do and outscored the cricketers in 2nd and 4th to carry on eking out his lead.

2. Quinton De Kock - 2108 - Non inclusion for the two middle T20 games against India plus a damp squib on Friday means that De Kock makes no discernible progress. Now needs to start looking over his shoulder.

3. Marnus Labuschagne - 2094 - A fairly low key return to the international team, but he holds third place for a third consecutive week. Could genuinely be anywhere between 2nd and 6th next week.

4. Mohammad Rizwan - 2022 - Never reached the highs of his first ODI against the West Indies and only got 36 points today - he still holds onto fourth by the very skin of his teeth.

5. Glenn Maxwell - 2013 - It seems like a very long time ago that Maxwell was our leading Cricketer in the World. Since then he has never dropped lower than 9th but is back in the Top 5 for the first time in nearly 4 months.

Other Movers

Cummins return to action sees him move up a place to 12th whilst Critchley, who was in the Weekly Top 5 two weeks in a row without moving up overall, registers just 111 points but moves up 2 spots to 13th.

Ones To Watch

Two international team mates at either end of The List have a further 3 ODIs to play and lots of movement they could make. Maxwell is very well placed for an assault on the Top 5 whilst Warner has thee positions within 100 points of him.

Top Three Averages

1. Simon Harmer = 183.64 (Down from 192.63)
2. Ben Stokes = 167.18 (Up from 150.8)
3. Matt Critchley = 160.89 (Down from 167.13)

Strangely our most decreased average and our most improved average now sit in places 1 & 2 of highest averages. For the second consecutive week, Harmer leaks the most points and is now in genuine bother. Stokes takes a huge leap up to second thanks to the Miracle or Nottingham.

David Warner - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Weekly

1. David Warner - 211 - Warner has been performing in fits and starts this year and this week was one of the starts...or maybe the fits....hard to tell. He gets his second Cricketer of the Week. He has never had more than two in a year.

2. Kyle Jamieson - 206 - A Test match that goes to five days will always see you pick up some handy points. Jamieson has used the first Eng vs NZ Test to arrest his slide and take him back up to 6th.

3. Travis Head - 170 - One of our three players that returned to action after a long spell away and it is straight back into a big score for Travis.

4. Joe Root - 166 - A match winning total for England's ex-captain sees him back in the points. He pushes back into the Top Ten on the overall list for the first time since Week 1.

5. Matt Critchley - 162 - Critchley's T20 Blast Renaissance continues with another big score. He does not make any progress in the overall List but is a mere 18 points behind Hasan Ali.

Overall List

1. Simon Harmer - 2504 - Not a prolific week for Harmer but he extends his lead on second place by 16. Every little helps.

2. Quinton De Kock - 2074 - An underwhelming return to international colours for QDK however he holds second place for the third week on the trot.

3. Marnus Labuschagne - 2012 - Waves goodbye to his spell with Glamorgan by retaining his third place spot. His run of games in England really have propelled him into the Top 5 mix again this year.

4. Mohammad Rizwan - 1986 - A decent cameo half century for Rizwan sees him hold onto fourth spot for a second week.

5. Rishabh Pant - 1922 - Almost half his points this week came from SR points as he registered his second successive score of 69.

Other Movers

Despite being absent for the best part of 2 months, just one strong performance sees Azam move back into the Top 6. He was first overall the last time he played.

Ones to Watch

The England duo of Joe Root and Ben Stokes sit 9th and 10th with 19 points between them and an open field ahead of them. How far can they progress during the New Zealand series.

Top Three Averages

1. Simon Harmer = 192.62 (Down from 203.83)
2. Matt Critchley = 167.13 (Down from 167.86)
3. Babar Azam = 160.91 (Down from 163)

Yet again Harmer takes the biggest tumble, but still has a huge lead in terms of overall average. David Warner shows the biggest improvement in a week where only 4 averages went up. He is up 9.28 to 90.36 a week.

Phil Salt - The Best Cricketer of the Week

The fifth highest week for point scoring with 9 triple figure scores. Last week's highest score would see you finishing 5th this week....
