Jos Buttler - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Weekly Top 5

1. Jos Buttler - 176 - Whilst his team are struggling to get out of the group stages of the T20 World Cup, Buttler has done enough to win his 4th Cricketer of the Week of 2024. This is the same number that he won in the whole of last year, where he finished the top point scorer.

2. Marnus Labuschagne - 144 - Continues to use the T20 Blast to his point scoring advantage with his second 100+ score in consecutive weeks. Quite impressively, this score all comes from a single game this week against Middlesex.

3. Travis Head - 138 - His form has been dropping week on week since the knockout stages of the IPL; his average points per week a month ago was 11.93 and was 92.88 last week. Despite this he crashes back into the Weekly Top 5 with identical scores of 34 against England & Namibia

4. James Vince - 120 - Continues his impressive spell of looking unimpressive but still finishing with decent scores. This is his fourth consecutive week in the Top 5 without making a 50+ score with the bat.

5. Glenn Maxwell - 108 - Not tearing up trees with bat or ball but is grafting to regular 100+ scores for Australia and edges into the Top 5 for the week.

Overall Top 5

1. Babar Azam - 2605 - Just 84 points this week but that means he stretches his lead on second by a further 84 points. He leads the way by 616 points.

2. Chamari Athapaththu - 1989 - Hasn't scored a point for 5 weeks but is still 82 points away from the next active player.

3. Yashasvi Jaiswal - 1962 - Is out of the team for India but manages to hold onto third place for another week....this could very well be his last.

4. James Vince - 1907 - Third week in fourth place for the ever present James Vince. Has only spent 4 weeks out of the Top 5 all year.

5. Jos Buttler - 1796 - Back in the Top 5 after 14 weeks away. Has a 73 point jump on the almost anonymous Ravindra Jadeja who is out of the Top 5 for the first time in 7 weeks.

Other Movers

Finished 6th for the week, but Phil Salt's 99 points from his two World Cup games sees him overtake Virat Kohli and move back into 9th place.

Ones To Watch

Just outside the Overall Top 5 sit Ravindra Jadeja and Travis Head with just 6 points between them. Either of them could launch an assault on Jos Buttler in 5th.

Top Three Averages

1. Chamari Athapaththu - 165.75
2. Babar Azam - 162.81 (Down from 168.07)
3. Jos Buttler - 128.29 (Up from 124.62)

Jos Buttler improves the most this week to move into the Top 3 highest averages. Virat Kohli's score of 4 sees his average drop by 9.3 and down to 4th place overall with 115.62.
