Some huge scores this week and some huge lunges up the List.
Weekly Top 5
1. Liam Dawson - 395 - Despite two Tests going on this week, our biggest score came from the little ol' County Championship. A century and a five wickets saw Dawson finish top for the second time this year.
2. Rishabh Pant - 352 - A double century in a Test match would win you Cricketer of the Week 9 weeks out of 10....but this is the tenth week. It does see Pant move up on the Overall List from 21st to 18th.
3. Pathum Nissanka - 261 - Is capable of a huge score but his average points per active week of 98.5 shows that those big scores have been too few and far between. 211 runs against Bangladesh only sees Nissanka move up a solitary place overall - now 19th.
4. Jasprit Bumrah - 190 - Week of two halves for Bumrah. A fivefer in the first England innings and nothing but Economy points in the second innings. Stays in 22nd place Overall.
5. Harry Brook - 139 - A frustrating week, in many ways, for Brook but his almost-century sees him just pip Jaiswal and Jamie Smith to fifth place. All three of those players scored in the 130s this week.
Overall Top 5
1. Liam Dawson - 2239 - Last week I predicted we would have a new Best Cricketer in the World - however I suspected it would be Sam Curran. Instead, it is the Hampshire man who becomes the fifth Number One player of the year.
2. Sam Curran - 2174 - A decent final T20 Blast game was followed by a County Championship game where he was not really called upon - and when he was he scored just 8 runs. Still manages to move up to 2nd.
3. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 2134 - Inactive this week and down to her lowest position for 17 weeks.
4. Jos Buttler - 2081 - Inactive this week and down two places to 4th.
5. Ravindra Jadeja - 1894 - His 106 runs this week was the lowest of any of the England/India players however was enough to see him hold off the MLC contingent from mounting a challenge on the Top 5. Pooran is 101 behind with Klaasen a further 18 adrift.
Other Movers
Jaiswal's wonky performance in the Anderson-TendulkarTrophy saw him fall in 6th place for the week but still rise by three places to tenth on the Overall list. Nicholas Pooran also moved up one place to 6th.
Top 3 Averages
1. Sam Curran - 155.29 (Down from 158.46)
2. Chamari Athapaththu -143.6
3. Nat Sciver-Brunt – 142.27
Rishabh Pant's poor year coupled with his massive score this week sees his average improve by 24.19 points. Klaasen's second poor week in a row sees him move down to 98.61 - down 5.25.
