Some weeks we have huge scores across the board and nobody moves overall...and then on weeks like this, there are more modest scores and the whole of the pack is reshuffled.
Weekly Top 5
1. Suryakumar Yadav - 241 - Started IPL 2023 in abysmal form but has slowly ground his way up the weekly charts until this week where he is comfortably clear as Cricketer of the Week. Back to his best it would seem. He is also up to 11th after spending a fortnight in 14th.
2. Babar Azam - 189 - If there is one thing that Azam is good at (and there's not, by the way!) it is bagging half centuries. He has got another two this week and has a big score that will be carried over to next week. Has moved up a place to 7th.
3. Hardik Pandya - 155 - A strong score and an average score in his two IPL matches this week puts him slap bang in the middle of the pack in 3rd place. Up a place to 9th overall.
4. Devon Conway - 142 - Inclement weather meant that Conway only played one IPL match this week - and he still managed to get into the Top 5 at the expense of many others who got double that.
5. Sam Curran - 140 - Isn't setting things alight in the tournament but is comfortably grinding out comfortable numbers week after week - but isn't the million dollar man we hoped he'd be.
Overall Top 5
For the 3rd week running, there is no change to the Top 5 again....things are tightening up in the middle and (slightly) at the top.
Shakib's 7 weeks at the top is the longest anyone has spent in pole position so far this year.
That Top 5 is:
1 Shakib Al Hasan 2565
2 Jos Buttler 2180
3 Shubman Gill 2079
4 Rashid Khan 2006
5 Ravindra Jadeja 1957
Other Mover
Cam Green is the other big mover this week. He finished 6th for the week with 117 points and moves up two places to 15th.
Ones To Watch
Last week I set up Hardik and Curran as the men to watch with 9 points between them, they then both finished in the Top 5 and have 6 between them. Still all to play for.
Top 3 Averages
1. Shakib Al Hasan - 197.31
2. Ravindra Jadeja = 177.9 (Down from 189.5)
3. Jos Buttler = 167.69 (Down from 180.17)
Buttler's average drops the most - however he remains in the top 3....just. SKY improves his the most up by 12.52 a week to 90.85 a week.
