Another rammed week of cricket.....just 5 players not to feature this week.
Weekly List
1. Devon Conway - 367 - Conway becomes the first player to win Cricketer of the Week more than once in 2023, spreading his score across three games in 2 formats this week. His 138 against India did a lot of heavy lifting in this regard.
2. Jos Buttler - 342 - A couple of comparatively quiet weeks before a Daddy score this time out. Strung together some good performances in the SA20 before an alright showing in the loss against South Africa.
3. Ravindra Jadeja - 290 - This was his first game for 6 months and he hit the ground jogging. A seven-fer for Saurashtra vs Tamil Nadu in the Ranji Trophy puts him straight into the thick of it before a return to the India set-up.
4. Hardik Pandya - 290 - An all-round strong week for the all-rounder. He scored 100+ points with both bat and ball and added 20 in the field too. Weeks like this will force his agenda.
5. Shubman Gill - 229 - Bit of a Jekyll & Hyde performance from Gill this week. Continues to be the best ODI player of the year so far.....but is looking to be on the verge of a busted flush in T20s. This averages out to see him end up just tipping into a very high scoring Top 5.
Overall
1. Shubman Gill - 972 - A second straight week in the top spot and manages to keep a sizeable gap on second place. Needs to fix up his T20 form to hold off the peleton.
2. Devon Conway - 782 - Has now occupied all the places inside the top 3; a fortnight in 1st, down to 3rd last week and now into second place. Could form a challenge this week during the ongoing T20 series.
3. Jos Buttler - 571 - A big week for Buttler sees him move from 9th to 3rd place. That gap between third and second was just too big for him to breech in one leap...but the South Africa One Dayers will give him a chance to look up rather than down.
4. Hardik Pandya - 548 - After a strong start (2nd in Week 1), Pandya slipped down to 7th last week. An all rounders performance sees him back into the Top 4 again - but there is only 112th between 8th and 3rd so there is an awful lot to play for.
5. Shakib Al Hasan - 544 - Shakib couldn't get it going this week. After scoring 349 points in 2 BPL games last week he has scored only 161 in 3 this time out. 19 points separate him and Usman Khawaja in 6th.
Other Movers
Sam Curran finished 7th in the Weekly List but his 191 sees him move up 2 spots to 10th whilst Rashid Khan and David Warner move up a spot to 9th and 13th respectively.
Ones to Watch
The smallest gap is the 4 points that stand between all-rounders Hardik Pandya and Shakib Al Hasan. Both are in T20 action this week and a few decent spells could see them move into the Top 3.
Top 3 Averages
1. Shubman Gill - 243 (Down from 247.67)
2. Shakib Al Hasan - 235 (Down from 272)
3. Devon Conway - 195.5 (Up from 138.33)
The SA20 proves the breeding ground for our two biggest movers this week. Buttler sees his average improve by a massive 75.83 points up to 190.33 whilst Marco Jansen is now down 42 points to 153 after his electric start to the tournament.
