Moeen Ali - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Weekly Top 5

1. Moeen Ali -244 - Comes out of nowhere with the last IPL 2022 game of the week to sneak his third Cricketer of the Week. He has the joint most of 2022.

2. Quinton De Kock - 237 - Scored the 7th lowest points total in his first game of the week and then the highest in his second. Been such a consistent performer in IPL 2022.

3. Joe Root - 211 - Underwhelmed in his first game but looked in better nick against Lancashire. Warming up for a big Summer. Up three places to 13th overall.

4. Marnus Labuschagne - 188 - Three of his five County Championship games this season have seen him score between 183 and 190 points. That kind of grind is always welcome.

=5. Ben Stokes = 138 - No theatrics for Stokes this week. A decent half century and a joint fifth placed finish for the week will do nicely.

=5. KL Rahul = 138 = Turned round three poor performances in a row with a half century against Kolkata to keep him in the mix for our week Top 5s....Just.

Weekly Top 5

1. Quinton De Kock = 2016 = De Kock is the eight Cricketer to take top spot so far this year and you can't argue that it is undeserved. However with the IPL 2022 drawing to a close he needs to make the most of his remaining games to widen that gap.

2. Simon Harmer - 2005 - Harmer's mediocre scores have been doing just enough to keep the wolf from the door.....but as soon as he was inactive he has moved down a place to second. There is a huge gap to third though so shouldn't lose too much sleep.

3. Rishabh Pant - 1784 - Lots of flux and panic all around him. Only scored 27 points for the week....but Pant holds third spot. '

4. Marnus Labuschagne - 1734 - The first new name to grace our Top 5 in 6 weeks. Marnus doesn't even bother with fifth and instead jumps straight in at fourth spot.

5. Mohammad Rizwan = 1647 - Sadly missed out Sussex's most recent game due to a bereavement. Rizwan is down one place to 5th.

Ones to Watch

It's not just football fans whose eyes should be glued to the bottom of the table this week. Rajapaksa and Williamson are tied in last place. Who can win the handsomest man in the burns unit and escape this indignity?

Top 3 Averages

1. Simon Harmer = 200.5
2. Babar Azam = 163
3. Ben Stokes = 157.25 (Down from 160)

Moeen Ali's late late show saw his average jump up by 10.23 points to 131.5 per active week. Bhanuka Rajapaksa's rollercoaster IPL sees him take the biggest nosedive. His average of 62.67 is the second lowest overall.
