Simon Harmer - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Only five players have played this week. Usually that means a Top 3 …..however all players registered 100+ points so this week isn't so much a Top 5 but an All 5. The Overall List is also an appealing prospect with only one player retaining their place from last week in a gigantic shake up.

Weekly

1. Simon Harmer - 292 - Harmer's South African renaissance has not only helped him get into the Test side but has also seen him register a very early Cricketer of the Week.

2. Babar Azam - 263 - Karachi are in poor form - and, at times, so has Babar. His weekly score has been very much saved by his last game of the week against Peshawar. Up 9 places to 7th.

3. Moeen Ali - 177 - Continued his inconsistent tour of West Indies with another cracking performance in the middle of two poor ones. Has randomly cropped up at BPL 2022 - although has yet to score a point for Comilla. Up 8 places to 6th.

4. Mohammad Rizwan - 151 - Whilst Babar's form has been improving, Rizwan's has been dipping. An average of 60.75 points per game will see him good across the PSL though. Up 6 places to 9th.

5. Hasan Ali - 113 - Quietly plugging away with five wickets in three games, Hasan isn't setting the world alight but grafts his way to avoiding bottom place. He makes his debut at 17 on the overall list.

Overall

1. Glenn Maxwell - 526 - Only one player retained their position from last week....and that player happened to be the Number One player. An 87 point leas after 3 inactive weeks is still pretty impressive.

2. Simon Harmer - 526 - Harmer had not even played this time last year and didn't make the top two until mid-July. He is way ahead of schedule.

3. Pat Cummins - 439 - If evading questions about your head coach were worth points, Cummins would have been a contender for Cricketer of the Week. Instead he was inactive and down a place to third.

4. Rishabh Pant - 415 - Inactive this week and also one of the few players on our List who has nothing to worry about in the forthcoming IPL auction. He is down a place this week.

5. Quinton De Kock - 369 - Inactive and down a place. He is only 50 points ahead of Moeen Ali who is in BPL action this week.

Ones To Watch

The PSL boys of Babar Azam and Mohammad Rizwan could make an assault on the Top 5 this week. Rizwan plays three games this week and averages 62.5; that would be enough to see him into fourth place this week.

Top Three Averages

1. Simon Harmer - 263
2. Pat Cummins - 219.5
3. Quinton De Kock - 185.4

Only one player was able to change their average this week and that was Moeen Ali who swelled his total by 33.67 to 109.67.
