Nicholas Pooran - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Weekly Update

Precious little cricket completed this week meaning that The Cricket List only had two active players this week.

Winner of Cricketer of the Week is Nicholas Pooran. The West Indian loves an intense spell of short format cricket & is back smiting balls with unabashed fury for Guyana in the CPL. He has leapfrogged Dawid Malan and Ravichandran Ashwin in the overall List & moves up to 7th

Not the most prolific week for Harmer as Shane Snater stole the headlines in Essex's victory over Glamorgan. Whilst he finished second best for the week, it is in the Overall List where some long found joy can be found.

Overall Update

The Top 5 has remained unchanged for the last 6 weeks and the top spot has been Marnus Labuschagne's for the last 23 weeks. But all that has changed this week as Simon Harmer has finally eaten into Marnus' 968 point lead and seized top spot.

The Overall List now looks a little something like this:

Simon Harmer 3849
Marnus Labuschagne 3833
Joe Root 3487
Babar Azam 2919
Quinton De Kock 2540

Harmer has come out of nowhere (comparatively speaking) to regain the top spot that he has not held since December 2018. Marnus has never been lower than 3rd and Root hasn't dropped out of third since February.

In comparison Harmer did not make his debut until March, spent 7 weeks in the bottom place and didn't breach the top 10 until late April but his average points per active week of 192.45 have proved unstoppable.
