Jos Buttler - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Weekly Top 5

1. Jos Buttler - 202 - Fair to say that Buttler hasn't had the greatest year, however this is his 12th Cricketer of the Week award in his five years on the List. Only Harmer (45), Azam (19), Labuschagne, Stokes (both on 14) and Maxwell (13) have more.

2. Heinrich Klaasen - 165 - Hyderabad are not having the greatest of times but Klaasen has put in two impactful knocks in the 30s with Strike Rates between 150 and 200 to bag second place for the week.

3. Liam Livingstone - 154 - A half century against Gujarat gives him the bulk of his points for the week. Such has been the average-ness of his 2025, this is highest score thus far.

4. Suryakumar Yadav - 145 - Has taken a long time to get going but looked more like a professional cricketer this week. This is only the second time in 8 active weeks that he has scored over 100 points.

5. Ravindra Jadeja - 127 - After a slow start to the IPL he contributed to proceedings with some decent runs this week - however is still underperforming with the ball with just 20 runs from bowling this week.

Overall Top 5

1. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 1650 - Is now a first time Mum as well as our first placed player. No points for that, however.

2. Annabel Sutherland - 1197 - Inactive this week and holds on to second place by a mere 36 points. Should be overthrown next week.

3. Ravindra Jadeja - 1161 - Moves up to 3rd spot; a place he lost 5 weeks ago. Has a lead of 139 points between him and the nearest active player.

4. Chamari Athapaththu - 1052 - Inactive this week and down a place to 4th.

5. Kane Williamson - 1038 - Inactive again this week. Will have one more inactive week before starting up in the PSL. Seems likely he will start comfortably outside the Top 5.

Ones to Match

Two very narrow battles at different ends of the table. Just outside the Top 5 we yet again have Pooran and Curran with 3 points between them, whilst further down their is the same gap between Adam Zampa and Liam Livingstone.

Other Movers

3 players scored meagrely but all managed to move up two places. Nicholas Pooran, Babar Azam and Pathum Nissanka are all outside our Top 5 but managed to move up to 6th, 13th and 18th respectively.

Top 3 Averages

1. Nicholas Pooran = 170.33 (Down from 191.6)
2. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 165
3. Chamari Athapaththu - 150.29

Jos Buttler's weekly high sees his average improve by 13.32 - the most of anyone. Rishabh Pant leaks 22.33 points and is down to 69 points a week.

Nicholas Pooran - The Best Cricketer of the Week

IPL means that we start with some crazy periods of point-scoring

Weekly Top 5

1. Nicholas Pooran - 295 - An outstanding start for the West Indian with two 70+ scores in the IPL for Lucknow. He is currently the top run-scorer in that tournament and only bettered by Nat Sciver-Brunt and Kane Williamson for us.

2. Annabel Sutherland - 284 - An exceptional last two T20 games against New Zealand saw Sutherland get back to back 4 wicket hauls and get her highest score of the year. It is the third time she has scored 200+ points in a week.

3. Travis Head - 204 - Has been almost anonymous for the first 11 weeks of 2025 but hits his stride in the orange of Hyderabad with 114 runs across two games.

4. Heinrich Klaasen - 140 - Scored 50% of his points from Strike Rate points this week after scoring 34 off 14 balls against Rajasthan and 26 off 17 against Lucknow.

5. Phil Salt - 106 - Strips off the England shirt and dons the Bengaluru one....and then immediately remembers how to play cricket again. 56 runs at a decent lick against Kolkata sees him edge into the Top 5.

Overall Top 5

1. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 1650 - Her first inactive week of what may be quite a few. Holds first place with the lead she has on second place down to 453.

2. Annabel Sutherland - 1197 - Her score of 284 this week sess her up from 7th place into second. Hard to see where he next cricket is coming from though.

3. Chamari Athapaththu - 1052 - Inactive this week and down a place to third.

4. Kane Williamson - 1038 - Finds himself talking about the IPL this week rather than playing in it....no points for that and down a place to 4th.

5. Ravindra Jadeja - 1034 - Only 27 points in his first match of the IPL for Chennai - sees him drop down to 5th. 30 points separates him from Wanindu Hasaranga.

Ones to Watch

The bottom of the Top 5 will be very fluid over the coming week. 33 points separate the bowling all-rounders of Jadeja, Hasaranga and Curran.

Other Movers

Slim scores from the Indian trio of SKY, Pant and Jaiswal in their first IPL digs...but they do each move up a place to 17th, 19th and 21st respectively.

Top 3 Averages

1. Nicholas Pooran = 191.6 (Up from 165.75)
2. 166.83 (Down from Sam Curran = 199.4)
3. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 165

Both the largest increase and decrease come from our Top 3 this week. Pooran moved up 25.85 pointd and Curran dropped by an eye-watering 32.57.

Nat Sciver-Brunt - The Best Cricketer of the Week....again

The calm before the storm as only 241 points were split between 5 players before the IPL starts next week. More of a round-up than a list this week.

Weekly Top 5

1. Nat Sciver- Brunt - 130 - NSB has top scored in 4 of the 11 weeks of 2025 so far. This week she enters the Top 10 for most Cricketers of the Week alongside the likes of Steve Smith and Pat Cummins who took 3 and two years respectively to reach that number.

=2. Babar Azam - Scored 22 at a sufficient enough lick to get Strike Rate point this week for Lahore Blues vs Karachi Whites in an All-Pakistan Knockabout

=2. Annabel Sutherland - 42 - Had a bit of a inverse Sciver-Brunt in the WIPL. Had a great Ashes series and a then a tepid time in India. Just the one wicket and 2 runs in her final outing before getting 0 in a T20 against New Zealand on Friday morning.

4. Chamari Athapaththu - 23 - Just 23 runs and then a washout for Athapaththu to end the series in New Zealand. Quite the downfall from 219 points last week.

5. Pathum Nissanka - 4 - Not often that 4 points gets you in the Top 5 for the week but here we are. The Sri Lankan is having a categorical stinker after such a profligate 2025.

Overall Top 5

1. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 1650 - Swells her lead to 598 but is going to have to sit out for a little while now until the start of the English County games start up.

2. Chamari Athapaththu - 1052 - Only 23 points this week but it served enough to see her move up a place to second. Hard to see where her next cricket comes from, however.

3. Kane Williamson - 1038 - Inactive this week and down to third. Would usually be gearing up for IPL action but is now having to wait until mid April to make his PSL bow for Karachi.

4. Ravindra Jadeja - 1007 - Inactive this week and holds fourth. Is about to join back up with Chennai where he could be the first ever player to score 3000 runs and get 150 wickets in the IPL.

5. Sam Curran - 997 - Inactive again this week. He has made no secret of the fact that he wants to make a big impression for Chennai to force his way back into the England team....potentially as captain???

Top 3 Averages

1. Sam Curran = 199.4
2. Nicholas Pooran = 165.75
3. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 165 (Down from 168.89)

In a week where all 5 players' averages dropped, Athapaththu's descent by 21.21 was the most eye-watering.
