Moeen Ali - The Best Cricketer of the Week

 Weekly Update

1. Moeen Ali - 336 - Earlier on in the year Nicholas Pooran got a huge injection of points from the Abu Dhabi T10 League and now Moeen is doing the same thing. This is his highest weekly score of 2021.

2. Simon Harmer - 330 - A phenomenal game for the Titans against Western Province saw Harmer get a ten wicket haul. He was 6 points off top spot for the week. He has also taken over from Joe Root as the player with the most points in First Class cricket.

3. Marnus Labuschagne -193 - Back in the runs for Queensland and back in the Top 5 for the week however 198 isn't a huge score from a First Class and a List A game. He has, however, taken back his title of most runs scored in 2021 from Babar Azam.

4. Peter Siddle - 171 - Fresh from his table topping performance last week, Siddle got 5 wickets across two games this week for another 2 figure score and another Top 5 finish for the week.

5. Peter Handscomb - 102 - Back in action for the week and scored just enough to get into the top 5; however scored more points for catches in the field than he did for runs this week. Moves back up to 11th spot overall.

Overall List

1. Simon Harmer - 5073 - Just when it looks like Harmer will lose his top spot he pulls it out the fire. Another 330 points this week sees him 192 points clear.

2. Marnus Labuschagne - 4881 - Can't seem to do quite enough to move back into first and with The Ashes round the corner he will not play as regularly as he has been for Queensland.

3. Babar Azam - 4090 - The Bangladesh tour was a disappointing one for Babar personally but third spot is still comfortably his.

4. Moeen Ali - 3835 - Moeen has been on an upward trajectory for the last 10 weeks and moves up to his highest spot of the year so far thanks to his performances for the Northern Warriors.

5. Joe Root - 3614 - Was technically in action this week although he did not bat nor bowl in the heavily curtailed England Warm-Up Game. He has not been this low on the list since the second week of the year.

Ones to Watch

Ravichandran Ashwin and Peter Siddle are in 8th and 9th and have 71 points between them. They will both be looking upwards to see who can overtake the inactive Nicholas Pooran who has a lead of just 158 over them.

3. Joe Root - 157.13 (Down from 164.27)

It seems VERY harsh to call the England Warm-Up game an active week but thems the rules. Subsequently Ben Stokes' return to cricket has seen his average dip by 8.4 as he did nothing. Moeen's average bumps up 7.37 to 136.96.

Peter Siddle - The Best Cricketer of the Week

 Weekly Update

1. Peter Siddle - 190 - A fairly meagre weekly high score is enough to see Siddle claim his third Cricketer of the Week accolade in what has been a fairly calm week for the Cricketing world. Makes a huge five place leap in the overall list to 9th.

2. Marnus Labuschagne - 156 - A Sheffield Shield and a Marsh Cup game in the same week would have seen Marnus hoping to score big; however his more modest totals sees him finish 'just' second.

3. Kane Williamson - 135 - Mr Second Place finishes third this week - he was the highest point scorer of the T20 World Cup Final though. He improved his overall score by 346 points across the competition but still stays in third bottom place overall.

4. David Warner - 103 - The T20 World Cup player of the series finishes the tournament with a fourth place finish off the back of his performance in the final. Scored the second most points of anyone on our List during the tournament but is STILL rock bottom overall.

5. Ravichandran Ashwin - 90 - Whilst his more 'glamorous' colleagues have a lay down, Ashwin is still plugging away against New Zealand. He has 360 more points than Kohli and 414 more than Bumrah.

Overall List

1. Simon Harmer - 4743 - Inactive this week but is due a fairly large haul of points in next week's update. We may be looking at Mr 2021.

2. Marnus Labuschagne - 4683 - Not a box office week for Marnus but gets his gap on first place down to two figures again.

3. Babar Azam - 4061 - Just 8 points for him this week but is pretty safe in 3rd place. There are 622 points to 2nd place and 447 to fourth.

4. Joe Root - 3614 - "And time goes by so slowly/And time can do so much"

5. Moeen Ali - 3499 - Last week I erroneously said it was hard to see when Moeen would get any more points this year....clearly forgetting the Abu Dhabi T10. Expect some incoming SR points.

David Warner - The Cricketer of the Week

Weekly Update

1. David Warner - 238 - Warner has refound his form in this competition and gets his first Cricketer of the Week accolade since October last year. It is also his highest score in three years of being on our List.

After months of not having anybody in the top five for the week with tied scores we have two in successive weeks....

=2. Simon Harmer - 168 - Is not producing his killer Essex numbers out in South Africa but is quietly pootling along with weekly three figure scores.

=2. Moeen Ali - 168 - Moeen saved his best scores until last but it was not to be for England. Has been the third highest points scorer of the T20 World Cup.

3. Babar Azam - 165 - It is such a shame that the team that wins the T20 World Cup will not have the best player in it. Pakistan's Azam has scored 523 points over the last 6 games and finishes third for the week.

4. Peter Handscomb - 147 - Back in the runs for Victoria (and looking a different player from the one who was such a flop at Middlesex.) Don't rule him out for a surprise Ashes call up. Moves up two places to 12th overall.

5. Dawid Malan - 114 - Much maligned throughout the T20 World Cup but ends it with a decent couple of knocks. Is not the superstar he was when he started the year but is still in ninth place overall.

Weekly Update

1. Simon Harmer - 4773 - Three weeks ago Simon Harmer was on the cusp of being overtaken by Marnus Labuschagne who was just two points behind him. Harmer's Titans form has turned that tide and the lead at the top is now back up to 246.

2. Marnus Labuschagne - 4527 - Inactive this week and unable to force his agenda for top spot.

3. Babar Azam - 439 - Started the T20 World Cup 84 points behind Joe Root in third and ends it 439 points above him. One hell of a tournament.

4. Joe Root - 3614 - “He waits… That what he does… And I tell you what; Tick followed tock followed tick followed tock followed tick…”

5. Moeen Ali - 3434 - One of the biggest beneficiaries of the T20 World Cup. Comfortably in fifth spot again but it's hard to see where more cricket is coming for him this year.

Ones to Watch

Glenn Maxwell has looked poor in this World Cup and is now down to 13th - however a score of 2 would move him up to 12th, 18 to 11th and 44 points would see him back in the top ten.
