Kane Williamson - The Best Cricketer of the Week

After the profligate last fortnights worth of updates only 807 points were shared between 7 cricketers this week - only merits a Top Three in my eyes.

Weekly Top 3

1. Kane Williamson - 277 - Featured in his first red Ball match of the year this week and hardly looked like he had been away by scoring 154 points to add to his 123 from a T20 Blast game against Glamorgan. Up to 8th Overall.

2. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 179 - Back to decent scores with the bat after her injury niggles that knocked her out of the back end of the T20 series. Got 119 runs across the two ODIs this week.

3. Sam Curran - 144 - Can't keep Curran down this Summer. After having done so well with the bat thus far, he chips in with a four-fer before the T20 Blast hiatus. He also reclaims the highest Short Form Point scorer from Nicholas Pooran.

Overall Top 5

1. Sam Curran - 2880 - Curran marks his ninth successive week of triple figure scores with his second week in top spot. He has 166 points on second place.

2. Liam Dawson - 2714 - Inactive this week but in anticipation of Test points next week.

3. Jos Buttler - 2550 - Only 9 points in the final game before the break for the T20 Blast but holds third place for a successive week.

4. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 2500 - Two decent ODIs sees her address her descent down the list and move back up into 4th.

5. Ravinfra Jadeja - 2415 - Inactive this week but is facing zero pressure below him - he has 441 points between himself and the next active player; Phil Salt in 7th.

Other Movers

Salt would be especially diapointed with just 70 points from a T20 game and a First class outing - but he still manages to move up a place into 7th.

Top 3 Averages

1. Sam Curran - 160 (Down from 160.94)
2. Chamari Athapaththu -143.6
3. Nat Sciver-Brunt – 142.69

Williamson's big haul sees his average improve by 10.12 points - he nwo has a very decent 115.18 a werk. Buttler's poor week sees his avergae drop to 127.7 - a reduction of 6.24.

Jos Buttler - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Ridiculous amount of movement in the List this week courtesy of our second 2000+ point score week in succession.

Weekly Top 5

1. Jos Buttler - 303 - Has brought his decent IPL form to the T20 Blast courtesy of two half centuries in three innings this week. This is his 15th overall Cricketer of the Week which brings him into outright third. Only Azam (19) and Harmer (45) have more.

2. Ravindra Jadeja - 253 - Is continuing his stellar form with the bat in the Third Test. With 676 points, no Indian test player has outperformed him in this series.

3. Jasprit Bumrah - 245 - Lost both matches he has played in this series but has contributed 435 points to his total. Moved up a place to 21 in the Overall List this week.

4. Jamie Smith - 159 - A score in the mid hundreds looks paltry compared to his bumper score of the week before but still puts him as the highest England player on the List this week and moves him up to 13th overall - he was 20th at the start of the series.

5. Kane Williamson - 144 - is basically here due to a half century against Gloucestershire which he then padded with two other below par games in the T20 Blast. Moves up 2 places to 10th on the Overall List.

Overall Top 5

1. Sam Curran - 2736 - Reclaims the top spot he lost 20 weeks ago. Since then we have had 14 weeks of Sciver Brunt and three each of Jadeja and Dawson before the Hampshire man returned the sceptre to the Surrey captain. How long can he hold it?

2. Liam Dawson - 2714 - Just 70 points this week and he drops down to second. That being said, a return to the Test fold awaits and we have seen some huge scores registered there so he could be back up again soon.

3. Jos Buttler - 2541 - Such was the gap between the Top 2 and the rest that Buttler's 303 this week still leave shim 173 adrift of second place. He has put a gap of 126 between him and 4th though.

4. Ravindra Jadeja - 2415 - Our star Indian performer moves up a spot courtesy of another 200+ score with the bat.

5. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 2321 - Scored 41 on her return from injury but her points are really dipping since her decision to stop bowling on taking on the England captaincy.

Other Movers

For the second week in a row, Pathum Nissanka scores modestly(118) but still moves up a place (15th)

Ones to Watch

Kane Williamson and YashasviJaiswal are both performing quote inconsistently at the moment. 2 points separate them on the edge of the Top 10.

Top 3 Averages

1. Sam Curran - 160.94 (Down from 164.56)
2. Chamari Athapaththu -143.6
3. Nat Sciver-Brunt – 142.69

Jasprit Bumrah moves up by a huge 14.71 points to 97.91 whilst Nat Sciver-Brunt's decrease by 6.16 is the largest drop....still in the Top 3 though.

Jamie Smith - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Bumper week with 2649 points scored - the highest of any week of the year.

Weekly Top 5

1. Jamie Smith - 402 - Of course it's Jamie Smith. His score of 402 is the second highest score of the year to date and sess him move from 20th to 15th on the Overall List.

2. Ravindra Jadeja - 268 - A weird one for Jadeja who scores just 70 points from his bowling and the other 198 for a batting performance where he bagged 89 + 69.

3. Phil Salt - 265 - Scored 145 runs across three T20 Blast to return from his post-IPL lull with a bang. Manages to move up to 8th after ending the IPl in 9th. Must be that magic bat of his.

4. Sam Curran - 241 - The Surrey captain has now scored 7 successive 3 figure scores and his second successive score of 200+. Over the last 7 weeks he averages 203.14 points per week. Not too shabby at all.

5. Harry Brook - 231 - A huge score of 158 in the first innings - and then a bit of a damp squib in the second sees Brook just about scrape into the Top 5. Have no data on it but I would imagine this is one of the highest fifth place scores we've ever had

Overall Top 5

1. Liam Dawson - 2644 - 5 wickets across two games for Hampshire has seen Dawson just about hold on to top spot. His lead on second is just 11 points.

2. Sam Curran - 2633 - Has been getting incrementally closer to top spot week after week and is now within a nose. Only 11 points separate him and the Number One spot.

3. Nat Sciver-Brunt - 2283 - Out of action all this week with injuries but is expected to be back in action of the ODI series against India this week. Needs to go well as there are necks being breathed down.

4. Jos Buttler - 2238 - Back in action this week after a three week sabbatical. He was in second the last time he hit a ball in anger and, this week, holds onto fourth for the third week on the bounce.

5. Ravindra Jadeja - 2162 - Lost his top five berth in his off week, has claimed it back quite emphatically in his on week. Has an ongoing Test to cash in next Friday but also has Pooran just 18 points behind him. That Top 6 is starting to look a little isolated though.

Other Movers

Pathum Nissanka is the biggest mover - despite only getting 132 this week he moves up 3 places to 16th. Jaiswal also moves up one place to 10th.

Top 3 Averages

1. Sam Curran - 164.56 (Up from 159.47)
2. Chamari Athapaththu -143.6
3. Nat Sciver-Brunt – 142.69

Having been the largest beneficiary last week, Pooran now drops the most (-3.32 to 126.12). Harry Brook's massive score this week sees his average up by a stonking 28.34. He now scorres 120.64 points a week.
