Quinton De Kock - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Another lean week for our 21 players with only 5 featuring and sharing 550 points between them. Needs to be a Top 3 for this week.

Weekly

1. Quinton De Kock - 141 - The Southern Brave player has put a torrid spell with the bat behind him and registered two decent scores in the last week. He had arrested his decline, won Cricketer of the Week and moved up 4 places to 6th.

2. Matt Critchley - 124 - Was not in the Welsh Fire's XI at the start of the tournament but has caught the eye with some big hitting cameos towards the end of innings. Picked up over half his points this week for his Strike Rate. Overtakes Pat Cummins into 12th.

3. Moeen Ali - 123 - Moeen is absolutely grinding our decent weekly performances. He has not had an inactive week for the last 3 months and has 8 100+ weekly point scores in that time. Dominating the T20 scene.

Weekly

1. Simon Harmer - 4235 - Same story. Inactive again but still with a 4 figure lead on second.

2. Moeen Ali - 3092 - Moeen's ever-present nature throughout the English summer gets its reward as he moves up to 2nd. He was last this high at the end of March, how far can he push before the end of The Hundred?

3. Rishabh Pant - 3056 - Inactive this week but will be in action over the coming weeks. Is 31 points off 2nd place as he moves down a place this week.

4. Mohammad Rizwan - 3025 - Was rested for the final Netherlands game and moved down a spot. He will be back in action for Pakistan in the Asia Cup next week and is only 31 points off third.

5. Babr Azam - 2699 - 111 points from the week courtesy of a half century in the final ODI vs Netherlands. Has a 149-point gap between himself and De Kock in 6th.

Ones to Watch

The whole of the Top Ten is pretty tasty but places 6 to 9 have just 71 points between them and are all active this week. Messrs De Kock, Bairstow, Root and Maxwell could be anywhere this time next week depending on how they go.

Top Three Averages

1. Simon Harmer = 211.75
2. Babar Azam = 158.77 (Down from 161.75)
3. Ben Stokes = 145.31

Only very small movements this week. De Kock improves his average by 1.62 points to 102 per week whilst Azam sees his average fall by 2.98.

Babar Azam - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Weekly

1. Babar Azam - 211 - Babar Azam against the Netherlands was always going to be a big scoring week and so it was as the Pakistan captain gets his first Cricketer of the Week award since March.

2. Glenn Maxwell - 187 - The Big Show has been something of a no show before this week in The Hundred, but turned it on for the London Spirit with both bat and ball in their two fixtures. Up 2 places to 8th on the Overall list.

3. Mohammad Rizwan - 153 - Is having to prove some doubters wrong for the first time in his career and things looked shay after failing with the bat in the first ODI, however 69 in the second put him back on track to finish third for the week.

4. Ben Stokes - 150 - Despite the disappointing nature of his first defeat as England captain, Stokes' 40 runs and 3 wickets add up to a decent enough total to nip into the Top 5.

5. Moeen Ali - 142 - The man bloody loves a T20 tournament & will come up with the goods at least once every two or three games. Such was the case this week, where he did not do so well against the Welsh Fire but made up for it with a half century against the Trent Rockets

Overall

1. Simon Harmer - 4235 - Inactivity is no big issue when those in second place aren't scoring points. He keeps his 1179 point cushion and may very well play in the second Test against England.

2. Rishabh Pant - 3056 - A rare thing for the Indian player - an inactive week. This is only his 7th week off this year. Holds second place.

3. Mohammad Rizwan - 3025 - Despite getting the third highest score of the week, Rizwan fell 31 point short of reeling in third place. There is always next week.

4. Moeen Ali - 2969 - Making 4th spot his own. He has been there for 5 weeks now and has a 381 point gap on 5th place.

5. Babar Azam - 2588 - 2020's top scoring cricketer has been off the pace this year and has spent 13 weeks out of the Top 5 but manages to leap over the anodyne looking Bairstow and Root to pop his head in the door.

Ones To Watch

Just an 8 point gap between Bairstow and Root this week. Root was above him at the start of the week but has dropped 2 places whilst Bairstow kept 6th place. Who will challenge for the Top 5 in the second Test?

Top Three Averages

1. Simon Harmer = 211.75
2. Babar Azam = 161.75 (Up from 158.47)
3. Ben Stokes = 145.31 (Up from 145)

For the second week in a row, Kane Williamson improves his average. Last week it was by a solitary point, this week it was by 4. He still has the worst average of anybody. Matt Critchley's Hundred cameo sees him as the biggest loser; shedding 8.08 points. He now scores 132.07 every week he plays.

Moeen Ali - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Yet another low scoring week in what is starting to become a bit of a stagnant period of the year. 16 of our 21 players have stayed in the same position on the overall list for 3 weeks or more.

Just a Top 3 again.

Weekly

1. Moeen Ali - 102 - Whilst not in prolific form, Moeen Ali is posting decent numbers for Birmingham in The Hundred. This is the lowest top score for the week in 2022 and the third lowest ever, however.

2. Joe Root - 94 - Keeping his eye in before Eng v SA with a couple of innings in The Hundred. Was not called on for the game against the Northern Superchargers but got a decent score against Birmingham.

3. Rishabh Pant - 74 - Mr Consistent did the business again in the last T20 in the WI v Ind series. Always coming up with the goods - helps that he has played in 26 of the 32 weeks we have had in the year.

Overall

1. Simon Harmer - 4235 - Has been inactive for two weeks and has only had his lead on second place reduced by 184 runs in that time. Could be involved in the Eng v SA Test but should have a big enough lead to stay in top spot without it.

2. Rishabh Pant - 3056 - Opens up a nice little gap on third place thanks to a decent innings against the West Indies.

3. Mohammad Rizwan - 2872 - Inactive for a second week and manages to just about hold on to third place. Should be in action this week against the Netherlands - a good opportunity to become upwardly mobile once more.

4. Moeen Ali - 2827 - A few decent outings in The Hundred plus some inactivity from those that were below him last week sees Moeen open up the second biggest gap on the list between himself and fifth place.

5. Joe Root - 2512 - Some carefree performances in The Hundred sees Joe edge into the Top 5 before the more serious matter of the Eng v SA Test series

Top Three Averages

1. Simon Harmer = 211.75
2. Babar Azam = 158.47
3. Ben Stokes = 145

Lots of small dips in averages but Glenn Maxwell is the biggest small dip for the second week in a row. He is now at 120.63 points a week. Kane Williamson improves his average by 1.78 points but still has the lowest average of anyone - 47.42
