Hasan Ali - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Weekly Top 5

1. Hasan Ali - A quiet start against Kent gave birth to a phenomenal showing against Gloucestershire. Up 6 (!) places to 12th overall.

2. KL Rahul - 201 - Really is having a barn-storming IPL 2022. Another 201 points this week sees him with 163 points more than anyone else.

3. Simon Harmer - 195 - By his own standards, Harmer has started the County Cricket 2022 season in parochial fashion. Just the solitary wicket was bolstered by a score of 75* in Essex's loss to Warwickshire last week.

4. Quinton De Kock - 86 - A meagre score against Mumbai Indians was bolstered with a big score against Punjab on Friday. Yet another Top 5 finish.

5. Jonny Bairstow- 78 - Think it speaks volumes for how long scoring a week it has been that the anodyne looking Bairstow sneaks into the Top 5. His week was saved by the Lucknow game where he nearly doubled his IPL 2022 total.

Overall Top 5

1. Simon Harmer - 1798 - Here we are again with Simon Harmer back in top spot. Has not graced the Top Table since the 10th December last year but the 2018 Champion is back in Pole Position.

2. Babar Azam - 1630 - His third inactive week and the former Number One player has IPL 2022 players breathing down his neck. Worrying times ahead.

3. Quinton De Kock - 1565 - Was only muscled out of third place for a solitary week before snatching it right back again.

4. Rishabh Pant - 1553 - Only the one game for Pant this week - and a fairly lowkey score of 22 sees him nudged back down to 4th.

5. Mohammad Rizwan - 1457 - Will be disappointed with his start to the County Championship 2022 season with Sussex but has 0 scoreboard pressure. The nearest active player to him is 276 points away.

Ones To Watch

The battle at the top between De Kock and Pant looks tasty. As it stands there is only 12 points between them and the pair face off against each on Sunday.

Top 3 Averages

1. Simon Harmer = 224.75 (Down from 229)
2. Babar Azam = 163
3. Joe Root = 138.67

The County Championship has been the principle source for the biggest swings this week. Matt Critchley has dropped 30.33 points and now on 131.67. Hasan Ali's table-topping performance sees him go up a huge 23.37 points to 90.7 a week.

David Warner - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Only 7 out of our 21 players have stayed in the same position this week. Let's see whose been moving and shaking more than Michael Barratt on a washing machine.

Weekly Top 5

1. David Warner - 314 - An emphatic victory for a man who has looked anything but emphatic in 2022. Nearly doubled his points in 3 big-scoring IPL 2022 games. Has been in 18th place as long as there has been one, is now up 2.

2. KL Rahul - 233 - Largely here this week thanks to his century against a lacklustre Mumbai Indians. He *is* the highest point scorer in the IPL as it stands with 475. Up 3 to 13th.

=3. Glenn Maxwell - 198 - Making up for lost time after joining up with Bangalore late. He is averaging 70.5 points per game - the second most of any contributor. He moves up two spots to 7th.

=3. Rishabh Pant = 198 - Buoyed up by playing three games in a week however is influential even when he doesn't get to bat. He got 50 points with the gloves against Punjab.

5. Marnus Labuschagne = 183 - Isn't at his prolific best yet for Glamorgan but has squeaked into the Top 5 thanks to a 4th innings half century against Notts. Up 2 to 10th.

Overall Top 5

1. Babar Azam = 1630 - Has not played since he got top spot three weeks ago. Will not be here next week.

2. Simon Harmer = 1603 - By his titanic standard, Harmer's return to Essex was something of a damp squib. It's a long ol' Summer though.

3. Rishabh Pant = 1531 - Pant has STILL not stayed in one position for longer than a fortnight. This time he is moving back up the ladder to third.

4. Quinton De Kock = 1479 - That failure against Bangalore cost QDK dear. Keeps his run in the overall Top 5 going to 13 weeks - the longest run so far.

5. Mohammad Rizwan = 1433 - His score of 72 was the second lowest match total of any player turning out in the County Championship. Has dropped from 1st to 5th in the last month but there is still a decent cushion of 150 between him and Pat Cummins in 6th.

Ones To Watch

After 11 weeks in 18th place, David Warner is now a real contender for progression. He is 10 points behind his old team-mate Jonny Bairstow who is in dire straits. Could be an entertaining battle.

Top 3 Averages

1. Simon Harmer = 229 (Down from 239.67)
2. Babar Azam = 163
3. Matt Critchley = 162

David Warner's fine week continues. His average has swelled from the lowest of the year (51) to the fourth lowest (83.88). Moeen Ali's bad week saw him dropped from Chennai's line up and drop 12.81 points. His average is now 123.44 points a week.

Matt Critchley - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Weekly Update

1. Matt Critchley - 302 - The very last player to have featured this year flew straight out of the traps for his new county and has won Cricketer of the Week at the first time of asking. Debuts in 19th spot.

2. Simon Harmer - 249 - Not as large a haul as last week, but 'tis enough, 'twill serve. Is joining back up with Essex for more of the same.

3. Kane Williamson - 176 - Has boosted his points haul but 186 points from three IPL games seems a little under baked. Averages 40.8 points per IPL game; the second lowest of anyone to have played more than three games.

4. David Warner - 101 - A much needed big score from the new Delhi Capitals man, needs to use this to turn his year around.

5. Glenn Maxwell  - 84 - Not so much back with a bang but back with a slight clear of the throat. 84 from two games so far.

Overall Update

1. Babar Azam - 1630 - His first inactive week for 6 weeks. No discernible cricket in sight. How low might he sink?

2. Simon Harmer - 1438 - Last graced second place in Week 4. Has stormed up from 6th place last week...you'd be mad not to expect him to stay in this Top 5 though til September.

3. Quinton De Kock - 1382 - You just can't shift De Kock off of 3rd spot. 59 points this week sees him bobbing along nicely ready to mount an assault on greatness.

4. Mohammad Rizwan - 1361 - Inactive this week after some faltering performances and subsequently down to his lowest position since the second week of February. Will be hoping his Sussex form puts him on the up and up again.

5. Rishabh Pant - 1333 - Much like his style of batting, Pant is very restless. He has yet to stay in one position for any longer than a fortnight. Down one place to 5th.

Ones to Watch

Moeen Ali is the highest T20 Point Scorer and sits right on the cusp of things in 8th spot. He needs only 10 points to overtake Kyle Jamieson and then has a decent run into the top 5 with some decent performances.

Top 3 Averages

1. Simon Harmer = 239.67 (Up from 237.8)
2. Babar Azam = 163
3. Pat Cummins = 139.22 (Down from 153.25)

Some huge IPL based swings. Pat Cummins leaks 14.03 points off his average but still manages to stay in the Top 3 whilst Kane Williamson improves his embryonic average by a ginormous 54 points and is now up to 68 points a week.

Phil Salt - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Weekly Top 5 1. Phil Salt - 197 - If Salt played in the Carribean every week he might put on Lara like figures. He finishes in first place...
