Quinton De Kock - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Only 7 players featured this week and of them four scored under 30....so just a top three is in order this week.

Weekly Update

1. Quinton De Kock - 174 - The player of the tournament from the white ball leg of India's tour of South Africa get his first Cricketer of the Week of 2022 and his fourth overall.

2. Moeen Ali - 151 - Scored the all but 10 of his points in just one of the three T20s he played against West Indies. Could have been in for a corker of a score if he hadn't been so anodyne in the other fixtures.

3. Mohammad Rizwan - 92 - Makes his bow on the list with a third placed finished thanks to his PSL victory for Multan in Fixture 1 of the tournament. Is likely to be a contender long-term.

Overall Update

1. Glenn Maxwell - 541 - Inactive this week but that HUGE score Melbourne Stars against Hobart still sees him 126 points ahead of the next active player.

2. Pat Cummins - 439 - Holds second place for the second week in a row despite an inactive week.

3. Rishabh Pant - 415 - Despite scoring the second lowest total for the week, Pant manages to keep hold of his third place spot for a second week. Has yet to be outside the top 3.

4. Quinton De Kock - 369 - Ostensibly in the Top 5 thanks to just two ODIs. Spent 14 weeks in the Top 5 last year but finished 6th. Can he go one better this year?

5. Kyle Jamieson - 300 - Is into his third inactive week but is still clinging onto his Top Five place. He has a 64 point lead on KL Rahul in sixth.

Other movers

Despite scoring a mere 29 points, Rahul managed to overtake Simon Harmer and Marnus Labuschagne and move into 6th spot.

Ones to Watch

There is a trio of players at the foot of the table who will all be in T20 action this week. Moeen Ali is 30 points behind Travis Head with his lead on Rizwan only standing at 60. Babar Azam is rock bottom as it stands but needs a mere 20 points to relegate David Warner to the foot of the table.

Top Three Averages

1. Pat Cummins - 219.5
2. Quinton De Kock - 185.4
3. Glenn Maxwell - 180.33

There are always some very big drops in averages in these early weeks of the year. Rishabh Pant lost 27.92 and is down to 103.75.

Glenn Maxwell - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Weekly Update

1. Glenn Maxwell - 407 - The winner of Cricketer of the Year 2019 has had some good weeks but this score is his highest weekly score in his 4 years on this List. It is also the 12th highest score ever.

2. Pat Cummins - 265 - A pretty much flawless first Test series for the new Australia captain sees him finish the Ashes with a second place berth.

3. Simon Harmer - 234 - Back in action sooner than we normally see him....and also back in the wickets. 7 in Titans match vs the North West. His first Top 5 of many this year, you would think.

4. Quinton De Kock - 195 - Unfazed by lack of match practice, controversy or fatherhood, QDK was back to his best in his first outing of 2022,

5. Travis Head - 164 - If you would have predicted Travis Head as your Ashes Man of the Series you would have been recommended a concussion Test. Only the fifth Test registered for points but still sees him finish in the week's Top Five.

Overall Update

1. Glenn Maxwell - 541 - At this early stage one good week can see you move up the table...so Maxwell's exemplary week was enough to see him move from 7th to top spot. He is 100 points clear on second.

2. Pat Cummins - 439 - Solid performances in the last two Ashes Tests sees Cummins move up 4 places to second spot.

3. Rishabh Pant - 395 - Pant has been one of the stand out performers for India in their disappointing tour of South Africa; he still manages to drop a place to third though.

4. Kyle Jamieson - 300 - Jamieson led for Weeks 1 and 2 but was inactive this week and dropped down three spots.

5. Simon Harmer - 334 - It took 21 weeks for Harmer to get in the top 5 last year, here he is in fifth spot after just the third week.

Other significant movers

Marnus Labuschagne finished in 7th place for the week but was still able to move up four spots to tail Harmer by 25 spots in 6th place.

Top Three Averages

1. Pat Cummins - 219.5
2. Glenn Maxwell - 180.33 (Up from 67)
3. Kyle Jamieson - 150

All three players who have played in all three active weeks (Maxwell, Pant, Rahul) improved their average. Maxwell's improvement by 113.33 is easily the biggest positive swing.

Ben Stokes - The Best Cricketer of the Week

Weekly Update

1. Ben Stokes - 196 - One word to describe Ben Stokes is irrepressible and, despite all that has been thrown at him, he manages to reverse the odds and claim Cricketer of the Week from the Fourth Ashes Test. It is his first List topping week since July of last year.

=2. Jonny Bairstow - 194 - The last time Bairstow scored a Test Century was 18 Test matches but saved this one up to mark his return to our List. He finishes joint second.

=2. Kyle Jamieson - 194 - Follows his inaugural week top spot with a joint second place finish in his sophomore week....thankfully it was coupled by a win for his team this time.

3. Steve Smith - 180 - Did not have an electric 2021 and was rooted to the foot of the List for pretty much the whole year. This could be a sign of positive intent.

4. Rishabh Pant - 177 - Pant will feel hard done by to score a century and only just creep into the top five but there have been some strong Test performances this week.

5. Pat Cummins - 174 - Captain Fantastic continues his great start in the hot seat with a top 5 finish in his debut week. Could be prolific this year.

Overall Update

1. Kyle Jamieson - 300 - First in Week 1 and second in Week 1 is bound to put you as top dog overall. Simon Harmer will tell you that trunkfuls of wickets will take you a long way in this game.

2. Rishabh Pant - 244 - The only player from the four that featured in Week 1 to improve his placing on the overall List. Third of four last week, he is now second of 11.

3. Ben Stokes - 196 - Has not been in the top three overall since the last week of 2020 where he fought Babar Azam for top spot until the bitter end. You feel another prolific year like that might not be in Stokes but he has started well.

4. Jonny Bairstow - 194 - Back with a bang on the Test scene and back with a bang to our Lists. Makes his second debut at fourth.

5. Steve Smith - 180 - A welcome return to form sees Smitty pop into the top 5; but there is only 6 points between the vice-captain and his captain in 6th.

Top Three Averages

1. Kyle Jamieson - 150
2. Rishabh Pant - 122
3. Glenn Maxwell - 67
