Weekly Top 5
1. Joe Root - 277 - An ever present in our Lists, it is the first time he has scored back-to-back Cricketers of the Week. He joins Harmer x 3, Al Hasan, Finch, Lyon, Parnell, Razzak, Stokes, Azam and Maxwell in that elite club.2. Marnus Labuschagne - 272 - Marnus isn't resting on his laurels in the BBL. He has finished second in the last two weeks and is now the second highest T20 point scorer on our list. Not bad going for two weeks work.3. Glenn Maxwell - 126 - A last hurrah for Maxwell as he bagged a big score in the game where Melbourne Stars got knocked out of the BBL. International duty next for The Big Show.4. Kane Williamson - 119 - Fans of Central Districts are not used to seeing their international captain turning out for them but a big score of 79 against Auckland this week sees him finish fourth.5. Peter Siddle - 100 - Mr Consistent for Adelaide in the BBL. Over the last three active weeks he has score 90, 100 and 100. This weeks haul is enough to see him finish fifth in his final week of Limited Overs action.Yearly Top 51. Marnus Labuschagne - 916 - Being one of just two players to feature in Test and T20 cricket this year has paid off for Marnus. He has already opened up a healthy lead at the top.2. Joe Root - 750 - Two Cricketer of the Week performances from Joe Root sees him go from 10th to 2nd. A good tour of India might see him challenge for top spot.3. Glenn Maxwell - 570 - It was a disappointing end to the BBL for Maxwell. He is down a spot for the second week in a row.4. Kane Williamson - 491 - A spell of Super Smash excellence sees him hold fourth spot. The slow pace of games in that competition may limit any huge leaps up the table.5. Steve Smith - 413 - Inactive this week and down two places but is facing no immediate pressure from those below him who have all been eliminated from the BBL.Other moverDespite a disappointing week individually and for his team, Quintin De Kock's 37 was enough to see him tip over Jasprit Bumrah's score and into the top 10.Highest Average Points Per Active Week1. Weekly Top 5
1. Joe Root - 369 - A daddy score from the new Daddy as his score of 238 in the first innings against Sri Lanka sees him finish top of the weekly table for the seventh time ever.2. Marnus Labuschagne - 360- A week that started with the Queenslander being the stand out Aussie performer in a very memorable match against India and ended with two strong BBL performances. His second week in the top two of the list.3. Steve Smith - 151 - Another workmanlike performance from the Aussie. His 151 points is some way off the top two players however. Third place will be some consolation on the week he found out Rajasthan have dropped him.4. Peter Handscomb - 101 - Handscomb really has started this year strongly. He is regularly putting on decent scores at very good strike rates. It bodes well for the wicket-keeper who still harbours aspirations of a national recall.5. Glenn Maxwell - 91 - Maxwell has had a bad week. Dropped by Punjab and three fairly underpar performances in the BBL...however the key word there is three. Weight of games sees him pick up enough to finish in the top 5.All Time Top 51. Marnus Labuschagne - 644 - Multi-discipline excellence sees Marnus claim top spot for the first time. He is one of just two players to have featured in both long form and T20 cricket this year.2. Glenn Maxwell - 444 - A poor week in the BBL sees Maxwell lose his top spot in what has been an overall disappointing week for the Melbourne captain.3. Steve Smith - 413 - He would have been disappointed with the outcome of Aus v Ind but he has found his touch again after a poor back end of 2019. He moves up one spot since last week.4. Kane Williamson - 372 - Back in action for Central Districts this week but 54 points could not hold off a surge of players behind him. He is down 2 from last week.5. Joe Root - 463 - This week's Cricketer of the Week jumps a huge 5 places and into the top 5 thanks to that huge score against Sri Lanka.Other moverUp three places, Peter Siddle is a significant mover this week after his return from injury. He is now in 8th place thanks to a 3fer against Brisbane.Averages Points per Active Week1. Marnus Labuschagne - 3222. Steve Smith - 206.53. The Weekly Top 5
1. Marnus Labuschagne - 284 - Always starts a year strongly. His previous Cricketer of the Week accolade came in the second week of January 2020. Can he keep his form up this year?2. Steve Smith - 284 - Smith put some poor form at the end of 2020 behind him to finish second in his first active week of 2020 thanks to a match-winning 131 + 81 for Australia v England.3. Glenn Maxwell - 167 - The Big Show showed his prowess with the ball this week with 65.87% of his points coming from his less favoured discipline. It is his second successive week in the top 5.4. Ravichandran Ashwin - 149 - If we gave points for courage and determination he would be much further up....but we don't...so he isn't.5. Jasprit Bumrah - 130 - Not as an electric a start from Bumrah as we might have expected but a decent enough yield from the debutant. The Overall Top 51. Glenn Maxwell - 353 - Being one of just three players to have been active in both weeks of this year has helped to propel Maxwell back to top spot again. The last time he held this lofty accolade was in the last week of 2019 where he was crowned Cricketer of the Year.2. Kane Williamson - 318 - Such was the weight of Williamson's haul in that final Test against Pakistan, he can go inactive this week and still remain in second place overall.3. Marnus Labuschagne - 284 - This week's top scorer sees himself in third from his debut appearance of 2021. With another Test currently underway, Marnus has upward momentum.4. Steve Smith - 262 - Smith spent a lot of time last year in the Top 5 before a poor IPL saw him drop down to his final position of 9th. Debuting in 4th, can he do better his year?5. Dawid Malan - 201 - Despite just 10 points this week, Malan's first week score of 191 sees him just about hold off Ravichandran Ashwin for a place in the Overall Top 5.Averages Points per Active Week1. The Top 5
1. Kane Williamson - 318 - This is WIlliamson's 103 week on our List and his very first Cricketer of the Week. He has hit the ground running with a huge score thanks to 238 against Pakistan.2. Dawid Malan - 191 - Malan finished 2021 in the same vein of form he ended 2020. The highlight of his week was 75 for Hobart against Melbourne Stars. He leads us out in terms of T20 players.3. Glenn Maxwell - 186 - The back end of 2020 saw Maxwell playing some box office cricket. He was not as high profile this week but still got a decent score of 70 for Melbourne Stars against Hobart.4. Peter Handscomb - 134 - Will be hoping to put a torrid 2020 behind him. The highest he ever got in 2020 was 14th on the List so to debut in 4th spot gives him hope for the New Year.5. Quinton De Kock - 110 - Poor form with the bat but great keeping sees him finish in the Top 5 for the week. He will hope for improvement in front of the stumps going forward.WeekKane Williamson - 318Dawid Malan - 191Glenn Maxwell - 186Peter Handscomb- 134Quinton de Kock - 110Joe Root - 94Peter Siddle - 90Nicholas Pooran - 76Moeen Ali - dnpRavichandran Ashwin - dnpBabar Azam - dnpJasprit Bumrah - dnpSimon Harmer - dnpMarnus Labuschagne- dnpVirat Kohli- dnpSteve Smith - dnpBen Stokes - dnpDavid Warner - dnpTop players by FormatLong Form - Kane Williamson = 318One Day - n/aT20 - Dawid Malan = 191Top players by disciplineRuns - Kane Williamson = 238Batting Bonus - Kane Williamson = 50Strike Rate - Peter Handscomb = 60Wickets - Peter Siddle = 60Wicket Bonus - Peter Siddle = 20Economy - Peter Siddle & Kane Williamson = 10Fielding - Quinton De Kock = 80Fielding Bonus - Quinton De Kock = 20
